This God Emperor is currently suppressed by the Chaos Gods. If he had access to his full power, that would have been ridiculous, and would have made him unstoppable.

Also, Apocalypse can never really 'die'. His soul is bound to the physical plane. His body has been atomized, but it'll reform... eventually.
