Daniel dropped his wand in panic as the calm night air illuminated with flashes of bright light, followed by bangs and screams. Daniel was only able to find his wand by the bright light that he was able to will to stay lit. He waved his light around in the dark, hoping to catch some sight of Dani or Roze, who's hair was turning white when he last saw her, but it appeared that he was separated from them. Dan could feel himself shaking, taking in sharp breaths, and exhaling. He could make out dark shadows in the outskirts of the forest, running around and emitting bright flashes. His eyes started tailing one, and he snapped back into it when a flash of red light flew past his face. Where the bright light came from, a foot appeared, and another, each taking long strides until a body, cloaked in black came fully into view. Daniel started backing up, internally panicking, but attempting to appear brave against the cloaked stranger. Dan eventually backed up into a tree, and was cornered by the attacker. An arm rose from the cloak, the hand gripping a wand, pointed directly at Dan. The stranger started moving his lips, when a jet of red light hit him square in the chest, and he fell to the ground. The source of the spell, one of the teachers, crumpled on the ground, with blood seeping through their robes. As Daniel went over to help, he felt he couldn't. Though it wasn't fear holding him back. The roots of the tree started creeping up his legs, binding them together. Dan struggled with all his might, but no matter how hard he tried, meh couldn't break free. He reached for his wand on the floor, and with effort, managed to grab it. His shaking hands held the wand, and pointed it at the base of the roots. The roots had closed in on his throat, and though he had trouble breathing, he managed to sputter out, "D-d-diffindo!" He felt the grip on his throat loosen, and he was able to free himself from the bindings of the roots. He then went over to the injured teacher, and kneeled by her side. "I-is there a-anything I can do?"
