Thank you for taking the time to visit, and I hope that I can convince you to take part in a unique, fresh roleplaying experience. This roleplay is a reboot of an older version originally ran by [@Transience], and with this reboot I hope to channel the previous one's passion and style. The idea itself belongs to Transience, but I am sure that this reboot may take a different direction and develop a unique lore of its own. Our story begins in the land of Ansus, a relatively peaceful continent that has been brought to its current state after millennia of bloodthirsty wars between nations, and vicious conflicts between heroes of legend. Historically, the mythical figures of the past have always relied upon the aid of the Gods (which many believed that they held a personal relationship with) to become the legends that they were. As a result, Ansus is generally a highly religious land that is dotted with incredible examples of its inhabitants' faith: colossal temples carved from entire mountains, and magnificent cities created solely to appease their divine masters. Life in Ansus is good, even those peasants who dwell in the suburban squalor enjoy a certain spiritual wealth that none in the far continents could hope for. But things are amiss in Ansus, much to the ignorance of those who call this land home. The Gods are being picked off one-by-one by some creature... some entity, and with each loss, the land of Ansus is scarred. The eternal fires within the temples that represent the Gods are faltering and dying. Each day a new fire dies, and Ansus becomes a little darker. It is a thousand years since the formation of Ansus as a unified land, and the last Great Fire within the Bastion of Light has waned and dwindled first into embers, and then into ashes. The high priests do not reveal to the populace that the Gods are extinct, rather devoting their energies to whatever rituals they can conceive to rekindle the fire. But despite their efforts, the land grows cold and dark. The last God, is his wisdom, knew that his kind could not defend themselves from this being that so effortlessly brought low he and his kind, and knew that after his defeat that the Humans of Ansus would be next. And so, his final act was to rouse the spirits of those long sleeping legends from the chaotic times before; those mythical heroes who made the land tremble with the very mention of their name. It may not be enough, but he had to try before being consumed by the Starless beast who came for his divine soul...

And that is the general overview of the plotline thus far. As a last ditch effort by the last God to defend mankind, great heroes (and villains) from the chaotic past of Ansus are returned to life, as they are the only ones who could ever wield enough power to save the world from the Starless. The population of Ansus is unaware of what has happened and continue their lives unabated and ignorant of the storm that approaches.
So, any takers?
