[h3][u]Storyline:[/u][/h3]
[i]"Legends, stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, creatures of destruction. The creatures of Grimm set their sights on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man’s brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change and in time, man’s passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named, “dust”. Nature’s wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness and in the shadow’s absence, came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. Even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone… darkness will return. So, you may prepare your guardians… Build your monuments to a so-called free world, but take heed… There will be no victory in strength."

This story begins in the world of Remnant, a place that has been shaped by the blades of heroes and nourished by the blood of the innocent. Man's constant fight for survival has now taken a different, more sinister turn. It was once believed that the creatures of Grimm, creatures that have set their sights on man since the dawn of their existence, were the only thing that humans and faunus had to fear. Many believe that now... things are changing. Grimm are now not the only destructive force that pushes man to the brink of extinction. 

Now, we have each other to fear.

The Huntsmen and Huntresses are a select group of individuals who risk their lives every day just to keep the evil forces at bay. Outside the comfortable walls that protect the four kingdoms, the creatures of Grimm wait and watch for every opportunity they have to strike. Their drive to kill and need for blood is insatiable, no matter how many innocent lives they cut down. Many see the security of the four kingdoms as a blessing, though as time passes, some notice the veil of protection is slowly coming undone. As warriors, Huntsmen and Huntresses are there to keep that veil over the eyes of the people. Fear, uncertainty, panic... the negative emotions that bring the Grimm will only cause more trouble than they can handle, and in the end, they will fall. 

Each of the four kingdoms: Vale, Atlas, Mistral, Vacuo... they all do their best to produce as many warriors as they can to defend the innocent. However, with the advances in technology happening in Atlas and some other parts of the world, some people are beginning to believe that these Huntsmen and Huntresses are no longer needed. They believe that robots and giant airships can protect them from the evils outside the kingdoms. Naturally, this made a select few turn against the very people they called family, friends, and mentors. These select few people have done the unthinkable...

They've switched sides.

They call themselves the Grimm Reapers. 

Huntsmen and Huntresses who have once fought on the side of man have now turned the tides and joined forces with the Grimm. Well planned and coordinated terrorist attacks that have left gaping holes in the defenses of the four kingdoms have been executed multiple times by this group, and there is still so little known about the true motives behind these attacks. Some speculate this is an attempt to get the world to see that they need Hunters to protect them, and that the robot militia that Atlas employs cannot keep the Grimm at bay. Dozens of lives have been lost, hundreds injured, millions of family changed forever. Huntsman and Huntresses are now becoming trusted less and less as recent events cause some to believe that the Grimm Reapers are working right under the noses of those in power. There is no telling when this terrorist organization will strike again, but it is kept as hushed as possible to avoid panic about the civilians. Afterall...

Panic only brings more monsters.[/i]


[h3][u]Plot:[/u][/h3]

Hello and welcome to RWBY: The Last Dawn! This roleplay will cover 3 Arcs, what we will call 'volumes'. 
We are currently in [u]Volume 1: Liberation.[/u] 

In this roleplay, you will get to play in an open world/sandbox environment in the world of RWBY as a Hunter or Huntress in training. This roleplay will be strongly character driven, with players who make their own decisions on what they want to do, rather than have someone force a plot down their throats. Occasionally, there will be big moments that characters can choose to have a part in, but when we are not trying to save the world, what you do is ultimately up to you. 

Characters will be a part of a four man team of students at Beacon Academy in Vale, playing as either first year or second year students. While there will be some certain things available to only 2nd year students, all characters are allowed to do whatever they like. Want to go and fight some crime during the wee hours of the night? No one's going to stop you. Though, try not to go too overboard. Remember you're still in training and you have to attend...

Classes! 

Monday-Thursday in the IC will consist of the students needing to attend classes. Roughly from 9am-4pm (IC) your character should be in some kind of class, whichever you like. Some classes include: Grimm Studies, Survival, Combat, Lunch, Study Hall, etc. Should you choose not to roleplay your character in class, at least be sure they are on campus during that time to interact with other students. Friday-Sunday IC time, your character is free to leave the campus at any time of day and do whatever they please. 

[h3][u]Posting Information - Please Read![/u][/h3]

[u][b]One week of time will reflect as one day in the RP! Sunday-Sunday real life time will be 1 day in the IC. Every sunday, it should be expected that 1 day has passed in RWBY, so that means you need to complete whatever plot process you're doing for that day within the week. I will occasionally do timeskips and will notify how much time has passed in the IC if it is more than 1 day.[/b][/u] 

[u]Posting Speed:[/u] You are required to have 2 people post between each of yours. If this is a problem, please speak with each other and try to collab posts that could possibly take a long time or are basically filled with dialogue. (I reccomend titanpad.com or Google Docs for collab pads.) You are not required to post every day, but remember to be courteous of others. If you think you do not have the time to post in a few days, leave your character somewhere they are not needed, or temporarily allow someone to control your character enough to move them around in a way they can work with. [u]We will not wait for you![/u] If you are gone for an extended period of time without notifying anyone, we will be forced to move along the rp without you. [u]Remember that you only have 1 week to carry out whatever plots you want to have for that day IC.[/u] If for some reason, you cannot complete your plans in a week, write them out as a flashback post or have your character thinking back on events we missed/you've not gotten to.

It also might be a good idea to @Mention those involved in your post so they do not miss it.

[h3][u]Rules:[/u][/h3]
[u]1. First rule:[/u] Do not be a dick. No arguments in the OOC. If you have a disagreement with someone resolve it respectfully like adults. If you're not an adult... humor us and pretend to have some sense then. No name calling and other stuff that's just outright rude. Not only is it annoying, it turns people off the rp when some people are always picking fights with others. Arguments/disagreements in IC is fine, of course. It creates drama.

[u]2. Second rule:[/u] No power-playing, metagaming, or anything of that sort. If there is a fight between two player characters, do not auto-hit. I'm sure we all know what this means. Remember your character is still a student, not a full fledged Hunter/Huntress yet. You're not going to easily take down a dozen or so Grimm with one move. Play out the struggle, makes it more fun.

[u]3. Third rule:[/u] Try to keep things at a set pace. Do not 1x1 with each other for ten pages, while the others watch in betrayal. Similarly, try not to keep the spotlight. Everything isn't centered around your character. Mini-plots are fine, as long as others are included. And pass it by me first. At the same time, try not to be away for long periods of time. This rp is a commitment. If you cant commit, just don't join. If you need to leave for whatever reason, please tell us.

[u]4. Fourth Rule:[/u] Keep everything... under R rating. Fights will be gory, yes, and you can go into detail, but no sexy scenes. Kissing, hugging, all of that is fine, but when the zipper comes undone, so will the fun. 

[u]5. Fifth Rule:[/u] Respect your GM and Co-GM, please. I'm not that too strict a GM but please don't try to undermine my authority. There's a difference between offering suggestions (which i love) and trying to control the rp yourself (which is rude and annoying).
