Hailing from Blackthorn City, It's Liam Coleman!" The audience erupted into applause. When it subsided, he introduced the other participant.
 
"In the green corner we have a winner of the Indigo League Conference, and the winner of last year's Whirl Cup. From Ecruteak City, it's Shiranui Tsukiko!" There was another eruption of applause. When it died down the MC explained this was a full six on six battle with no time limit. The official signaled for the two to start
