In the Central Plaza
A loud rumbling came from the central guildhall. Most people had already left to see the front gate. Without any warning, the doors of the guildhall flew out of their hinges and across the plaza. A tall and imposing woman stood where the doors used to be. She was significantly taller than most people. Besides that, she wore an extremely heavy set of armour that was just as imposing as she was. Despite her imposing silhouette, it appeared that she was trustworthy. Kingsly and Charlotte ran back to the plaza. "Renee!" Charlotte yelled. Renee, the large figure, turned towards Charlotte. "This is bad. They're..." Charlotte stopped to take multiple deep breaths. "They're... The scouts say that they've surrounded the city..." She said, panting as she leaned over. Renee grinned to herself. "Well. Let's do this. Kingsly, plan?" Kingsly gave himself a few solemn seconds before speaking. "Scouts hath said the n'rth, east and south hast an amount of ghouls that is ere to come. The west is less maddening. We shalt defend the three and let one be." "Modern English, you sow's son." "...Lots north, east, and south. Less west. We'll protect the north, east and south with the help of the other combat guilds. The loose people can defend the west." Renee nodded. "I'll take the north. Kingsly, you take the east. We'll get the bigger loose combat guilds to take the south. Charlotte, you help with the west." She said, placing her finger against her forehead as she contacted all of the guildmembers. "...Alright." "Aye." Renee then walked off towards the north end of the city to defend while Kingsly went east. Charlotte begrudgingly went west.
At the entrance...
Upon reaching the west gate, Charlotte noticed the large rabble of people. "What are you guys doing? Make a party with some other nerds and go already!" She said. What she said was not unwarranted. With each passing second, the ghouls and vampires got closer, and as a result, dug in deeper. They solidified their defences with the broken and rotting trees. The ground of these trees were absurdly soft. It would be difficult to fight in each passing minute. Though, Charlotte didn't actually know this. She didn't want to wait. Cannibalism – Can heal Vampires by reducing own HP. Attack Pattern: Ghouls are stupid, angry things. Without a leader, they’re just a disorganized mob of monsters that can only melee. Description: The unlucky humans who survived the transformation into a vampire, but didn’t quite make it there. Losing their mind in the process, they shamble about, hungering for blood, obeying only the most basic instincts. In vampire hierarchy, they are at the very, very bottom. Miasma – Passively releases a poisonous miasma which deals damage to all non-undead creatures. Fleshbomb – Upon dying, they explode in a violent mess, poisoning and slowing everything near. Maddening II – The more damage they take, the smaller and faster they become. Cannibalism – Can heal Vampires by reducing own HP. Attack Pattern: Ghoul Fleshpiles are absurdly slow. However, each attack is known to one-shot non-tanks. Getting stunned while near one is a death sentence. Luckily, it's impossible to miss them Description: A disgusting fusion of flesh. Each Ghoul Fleshpile is a violent pile of corpses that rotted and melted in such a way that they are permanently fused to each other. Roughly 5 times the size of a ghoul, they are extremely dangerous when they attack. Nightmare Claw – Ranged attack that does physical slashing damage. Has a cone-like AOE and inflicts Bleed DoT on those that lose more than 10% of their HP from it. Bloodlust – Increases STR and AGI by the amount of enemies that have Bleed DoT. Shadowdash – Teleports from one shadow to another. Attack Pattern: Thralls are assholes that backdoor with Shadowdash, before using Nightmare Claw on the squishies to gain obscene amounts of Bloodlust bonuses for literally all of them. They’re easily shut down if a healer has a DoT removal ability, and aren’t quite as useful against tankier players, but many parties have been wiped because of Bloodlust shenanigans. Description: Thralls serve under Vampire nobility, and are generally considered to not have any significant amount of magical power. They are, however, the most common of the Vampire race, and serve as the footsoldiers of others. The elite Thralls have been known to ascend to knighthood, but those are rare occasions. Shadowdash – Teleports from one shadow to another. Sanguine Rain – AOE spell that causes a rain of blood, dealing Unholy magical damage. Has a small chance of inflicting Bleed DoT. Blood Spike – Single target spell that fires off a spike of blood in a direction, dealing Unholy magical damage. Inflicts Bleed DoT. Does bonus damage based off target’s missing health. Heart Crush – Melee attack that does true damage. If it deals more than 10% of the target’s health, they are Stunned for five seconds. Martyrdom – By sacrificing all of its remaining HP, the Bloodletter deals Unholy magical damage based off how much was sacrificed, as well as inflicting Bleed on all that were hit by it. Attack Pattern: Backliners that support the Thralls, Bloodletters are quite squishy and have a lesser range than most other long-range mobs, but make up for it with their ability to Shadowdash to safety. When half of the Thralls and Ghouls are annihilated, they are generally known to start using Shadowdash and Martyrdom in order to do some damage to the player’s backline in turn. Description: Bloodletters are a step above a Thrall, generally coming from magically-inclined races that have been turned. With their powers over blood, the quintessential element of ‘life’ for the unholy undead, they are favored pets of the vampire aristocracy, often rising up the social hierarchy to become the next generation of nobles.
