Out here in the fields I fight for my meals I get my back into my living I don't need to fight To prove I'm right I don't need to be forgiven It's been three years since shit hit the fan. We're not one hundred percent sure of what happened. All we know is that everyone out of their teens-- usually twenty and older-- died from some sort of disease. Why it didn't affect children and teens is still a mystery, and as far as we can tell here in the city of Kano, Minnesota, nobody's even attempting to figure that out. We're too focused on trying not to be killed by the gangbangers and psychos of the neighboring "clans". There are various small groups, as well as three or four major factions. We happen to be somewhere in the middle. We don't have an official name for ourselves, but we are those not accepted by any faction. We were betrayed, and left to die in gutters by those we called friends, or injured in turf wars. I suppose you can call us The Forgotten. We took up residence in a local pawn shop, and have held it for two winters. In a way, we're the merchants of this new world, but that doesn't mean people don't try to kill us. Usually it's one of the local gangs, but smaller groups have tried taking over. In that last skirmish we lost a lot of good people. They were my friends, but we must move on. After all, it would be a great dishonor to them if we stopped moving forward.

Welcome to the Apocalypse!
Rules 1- First and foremost, please be respectful of the other RPers. This includes no flaming, no fighting, no arguing (discussion and debate are welcome though), no eye gouging, no kidney punches... well, you get the idea. 2- This is a casual RP. That means most people will most likely write one or two paragraphs. 3- No godmodding. This includes controlling or killing another player's character without permission, doing impossible feats like stopping anything larger than a Prius with one hand, and many other things. 4- Keep it PG13. Anything you see in a PG13 film nowadays is fair game, however the "one f-word" rule will be in effect; your character my use it once a month. 5- If questions or conflicts arise among RPers, I ask that it be taken to PMs. If one or both parties wish, I can act as a mediator in these situations. 6- The current year in the RP is 2019. Please remember that as you play. 7- Last but not least, have fun! The Virus Nobody uses the Virus' real name since it takes too damn long to say. However, it wiped out thew majority of the population in the US, if not the world. Those affected were prepubescent or older than 21 years of age. Animals of every sort can carry the Virus, ranging from cats, dogs, rats, mice, and birds; the only animals shown to have immunity are fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Although very few cases of the Virus have been reported in Kano, it has shown to infect anyone in the above age categories if exposed. Kano Before the Virus appeared, Kano was a bustling city of just over 40,000 people. Now different groups and factions have divided up the town into territories. Some are gangs, and a few are religious cults. However, the vast majority are simply stragglers just trying to get by. The major groups are as follows. The Gamers The Gamers have control of the local arena, where the college basketball and football teams used to play. Now it's home to gladiator fights, ranging from to surrender, all the way up to fights to the death. As expected, goods and money are often exchanged here. The Scorps The largest gang in the city of Kano. Their home turf is mainly the residential district. Drugs and gambling are commonplace, among other, much worse things. The Coyotes The Coyotes control the outskirts of Kano. Like their namesake, they are tough, hardened survivors who can live off of almost anything. However, they risk exposing themselves to the Virus in order to hunt and farm. Due to their nature as thieves and scavengers, the gang often clashes with the Scorps. Omnibus Scientia By far the largest cult in the city. Roughly translated, their name means "All is knowledge". They have taken control of the libraries and courthouses. However, due to their beliefs, they have absolutely no problem turning to cannibalism in hard times. The Forgotten As stated before The Forgotten are those who are wanted by other groups, kicked out, or were betrayed and left to die. Although a relatively small faction, they own a small part of the shopping district. Despite this, they only operate out of a pawn shop. The Earthkin The Earthkin are the product of new age idealism and marijuana. Despite this, they operate out of the local Wally World, where they hydroponically grow plants (some more edible than others), raise animals (all tested for the Virus), and even raise those born after the Virus hit.

Name: Age: (maximum age is 22) Appearance: Faction: Personality: (Optional) Backstory: (Optional; may be filled out as the RP goes on) Other: (List skills, equipment, weapons, character quirks, etc.)
