[@Rilla] I think the way I'm going to go about gathering abilities for him is going to be fairly similar to how you gathered the keys for Kei'Taro. Several matches where he is forced to learn a jury rigged version of whatever the character he is facing is using, of course they'd all be throw away characters so he wouldn't be taking another character's skillset and just calling it his own. 

I'll write it off as outright magical potential, where the void left behind by the loss of his own magical ability demands to be filled.
