Light Sanctum allows for healing at the cost of damage of magic and the Key Blade itself becomes very fragile 
Shadow Sanctum allows for deep shadow magic and quick attacks, the blade of the Key blade becoming razor sharp back super-steel at the cost of quicker fatigue and no source of healing his wounds because of the shadow magic that runs through his body.
