They hire these so called "Agents" and send them in the multiverse to do what they please, overlords that want to play with the beings they deem lesser. Each Agent is different, coming from different universes and therefore carry different pieces of technology. Some utilise magic, others utilise primitive or advance forms of technology. Some of these warriors use sw ords and wear armour, Knights from an older age. They are paired with one other person, seemingly at random, and plopped into a new universe to cause destruction. Objectives: To cause as much destruction and chaos as they can before they get caught. They are "shenanigans" the organisation. They value chaotic individuals and do things for the sake of amusement. Members: Das Jotunheimen hires all kinds of beings. From the farthest corners of the multiverse, they gather the strangest, most peculiar and powerful individuals for sole intention of chaos. Most, when they appear next to each other in a new universe, take minutes to try and kill each other. Das Jotunheimen values the pairs that survive these first few minutes and actually work together. That is when they are told of their purpose, to battle for the amusement of laughing gods. Some accept this fate immediately while others deny it. But they all accept in the end. All were picked near death, on the very brink of the eternal abyss. Some individuals and groups include:
*Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka *Nathaniel (John Mandrake)
History: Das Jotunheimen's history started at the very beginning, the beginning of everything. A group of higher-than-life (literally) individuals formed together to make as much chaos as they could in the multiverse. Recruiting beings from across the multiverse and dropping them into another. It was a very simple idea and it's been working for eons, they have never been caught. The leaders are very fickle beings and they love their mind games. They will do anything to cause chaos and anything for a good laugh. Out of any organisation in the multiverse, Das Jotunheimen are the simplest. Have fun, cause chaos. Consequently, he began his life with the disposition of a traditional apprentice: selfish, arrogant, and naïve. However, several factors affected Nathaniel in ways that most apprentices were not. Martha Underwood, his first master's wife, took the role of a surrogate mother in his life. She showered the young boy with attention and kindness and called him by his birth name, allowing the boy's morality and sense of loyalty remain intact (to some extent). Nathaniel also displayed an ambitious and brilliant intellect from the beginning, enabling him to quickly equal and even surpass his first master, at least in terms of summoning prowess. It was this ambition and intelligence that motivated much of his personal development, as his encounters with the djinni Bartimaeus, the Resistance, and the destruction of Underwood's house were all initiated by a plot that Nathaniel hatched to avenge himself on the magician Simon Lovelace. At the end of this conflict, Nathaniel was propelled to a position of favor and admiration, his talent and career under the personal watch of both Rupert Devereaux and Jessica Whitwell. This rapid advance affected his personality negatively even as his own skills were increased, and he became a vain and arrogant young magician. However, a shred of the old Nathaniel remained, particularly in his sense of morality and honor, and eventually would transform him into the selfless and heroic magician in the final battle against Nouda. Nathaniel would die in the battle, but not before saving several innocent commoners (among them Kitty Jones) and even the life of Bartimaeus. By the end of the Trilogy, Nathaniel displays not only a conscientious regard for the lives and wellbeing of commoners, magicians, and demons, but also a willingness to lay his own life down to save them. When accepted into the Das Jotunheimen, he preferred more subtle techniques to cause chaos, never wanting to harm innocents and generally changed the universes he was transported to in a positive manner. Bio: Excerpt from Bartimaeus Trilogy Wikia Nathaniel was born to unknown parents, and then, at age five, sent to live with the middle class magician Arthur Underwood as part of a government program. At the age of 12, Nathaniel summoned the spirit, Bartimaeus, to do his bidding for him. Initially, he was very afraid, due to knowing the djinni's background, but also due to his appearance. After confirming Bartimaeus' identity, Nathaniel charged him with obtaining the Amulet of Samarkand from the house of Simon Lovelace. Although the djinni was skeptical at first, he eventually left, before Nathaniel could inflict the Systemic Vise on him. Later, they saved the Prime Minister and other members of the parlament when Simon Lovelace summoned Ramuthra to kill them. Two years later, he summoned Bartimaeus again, and he and Bartimaeus solved the Golem case, (although Kitty Jones actually killed the golem) and killed the afrit Honorius. Later, when Nathaniel was seventeen, he was landed in the middle of Quentin Makepeace's scheme, and summoned his djinn, Bartimaeus, into his body (unwillingly, it was Kitty who convinced him to do so) and acquired Gladstone's staff. He slew Nouda and the other demon-human hybrids, but died in the process. The Glass Palace collapsed on him. Even at the very end, he gave Bartimaeus his freedom. When Nathaniel awoke next to the great Ghazghkull, he was certainly surprised. He was awoken with the Ring of Solomon, Gladstone's Staff, the Seven League boots and the Amulet of Samarkand! The four most powerful magical items in the whole of magical society was now his property! Of course, he had a nasty time waking up due to the fact that his new partner almost tried to kill him with his Power Klaw. The battle between the two was furious. Two powerful entities from two very different worlds. Nathaniel almost immediately summoned Bartimaeus, his loyal and trusting companion that probably thought he was dead. The magician would've laughed at his reaction if only he wasn't being threatened by a ten foot giant with almost insurmountable strength and weapons. Eventually, the two caused so much chaos fighting each other (Ghazghkull almost beat the living snot out of a poor afrit) that Das Jotunheimen had to intervene. The two were immediately separated from each other, never to meet again. As one of the most powerful in Das Jotunheimen's Agents, he is granted the ability to travel the multiverse alone, tagging along with pairs on rare occasions. Abilities: Amulet of Samarkand The amulet grants the user protection from all magical attacks and has enough power to stop a bolt from a greater Marid, the largest and most powerful of all spirits in the nine plains. Staff of Gladstone This grants Nathaniel the ability to amplify his power by numbers in the dozens. The ability to summon two marids at once is almost unheard of and Gladstone's Staff gives the user that power without any of the nasty side affects the far more powerful Ring has. It also gives the user the ability to summon a low level afrit and downwards almost instantly, without the use of the boring procedures. The Staff grants you the ability to have 50 spirits summoned at a time. Ring of Solomon The ring offers the power of summoning 500 spirits on your lonesome, a great and powerful ability that made Solomon the greatest magician of all time. From the lowliest imp to the greatest Marid, the Ring of Solomon can summon them all. The ring has some extreme disadvantages as well. If you summon more than a thousand spirits, you will experience excruciating pain, large amounts of fatigue, the inability to move or speak and be incredibly vulnerable. Even when summoning small numbers of mid-level djinni, it gives the user a headache and they may experience puking. Nathaniel rarely uses the ring and has only wielded it in certain crucial battles. The Magicians Mark The mark appears during puberty and it marks a child whether it is magical or not. Each mark is entirely unique to every magician (with the rare exception of twins) and magical training starts almost a day afterwards. Nathaniel is, arguably, one of the most talented and powerful magicians in the modern day world. Armed with his weapons, he is the most powerful in existence. The ability to summon a Marid and a high-level afrit at the same time is almost unheard of. The fact that he can also bind him to his will simultaneously is a testimony to his will. Universe of Origin: The Bartimaeus Sequence

The demons of the Other Place can be summoned into the real-world from anywhere in the multiverse and at any time. Nathaniel needs time to summon his spirits and the more powerful and deadlier the spirit, the longer it needs to summon them. He uses the Amulet of Samarkand protects him from any magical backlash. All of his regular summons are considered by Das Jotunheimen as Agents but all of them have loyalty with Nathaniel and not his organisation. His demons range from imps, foliots, djinni, admits and marids. The higher the ranking, the larger and more powerful it is. Every single classification of demon has to have some sort of form before entering real-world and most choose the being that fits them or whatever the situation calls for. But it's the amount of magic they have that makes sure that imps can't turn into skyscrapers. Only Marids can. To summon a spirit, you must know it's true name. If you know it's true name, then they're basically your slaves. But if they know your true name, then you're on equal grounds with each other. But these are not all of the classifications. There are lowly spirits who aren't even worth mentioning and then there are the great beings of such terrible power that only one (The Magician) magic-user that is alive can actually summon one without outright dying. All of the classes from djinni and up can fire bolts of magical energy that blows shit up. Of course, the higher the demon is in the ranking, the more shit it gets to blow up. But that is only the basic power. Some control the elements, use fear to their advantage, shape shift into Giants to crush people, go invisible to the naked eye and etc. Ramuthra (the only greater spirit that The Magician can summon) is able to, as a Greater Spirit of the Other Place, warp the elements and change the physical state of whatever he comes in contact with. Due to his nature, he brought the chaos of the Other Place with him. And before concluding, the less powerful, the longer they can stay in the real world without getting fatigued. I added this in so Nathaniel can't just wreck shit up with Ramuthra all the time. So imps can stay years while marids can only stay for around a week or two. Ramuthra can only stay for around an hour or two. The following are some of his more notable summons, please note that excluding Ramuthra, they are almost constantly by Nathaniel's side whenever they can (if you notice, there are no imps or foliots in this list. They are that weak): Bartimaeus of Uruk This demon has been with Nathaniel from the very beginning, when he went by the name John Mandrake and was an apprentice to middle-class magician. He is known by many names but most of the time his summoner just calls him Bart. The spirit is mostly known for his ingenious plans, cleverness, wit and smartass comments. In the Guide to Demons and the Other Place, he is labelled "intelligent" but has "little to no power". The book has been claimed by some to be false (Bartimaeus in particular), so this may be completely inaccurate. Bartimaeus is a mid-level djinni and when compared to other demons in Nathaniel's large cadre, he is a mere insect. But he is a valued strategist, a loyal summon and his best friend. But he is able to merge with his summoner at will, giving The Magician his abilities while also anchoring himself to the mortal world. He is known to also be a trap specialist but the traps tend to involve very comical ways in getting rid of someone. He takes the form of a lion because he said that "they were the only animals that were cool enough for him and be able to lug Nathaniel's ass around." Duros the Sandman [img]http://i.imgur.com/VpVZRFm.jpg][/img] Imagine Nathaniel's surprise when he found out that the Sandman was actually a spirit. Though he is nothing like the Sandman of the tales. Duros is a high-level djinni known for it's ability to make sand. He cannot manipulate sand, he can only make sand. Sounds pathetic but wait your mouth is filled with tiny pellets of sand while you laugh at his powers. He basically drowns people under sand to kill them. He has a very fierce temper and the youngest of his employ. He also has sadistic tendencies and scares most of the imps and lesser foliots it meets. He is known as the sandman for literally creating the Saharan desert so he could drown the humans below for ridiculing him for his powers. He doesn't respect anyone except for Nathaniel and basically hates everyone else. Sonya the Terrible Sonya is a high level afrit The Magician uses for his employ. Nathaniel learned her true name when flickering through his book of demons, waiting for his espresso in Neo-Starbucks. She caught his eye because of the kill-count the savage Sonya has gathered over her years fighting for humans. The demon claims she has killed ten thousand spirits in her career but some of The Magician's troublemakers say that 99% of that were messenger Imps. Though that number may be false, the demon's skill in controlling and manipulating fire speaks for itself. Her pyromaniac tendencies may be a problem but her gigantic, explosive, destructive balls of fire is pretty deadly. She is one of the Magician's more regular summons and her signature move of "Spam Fireballs till They All Die" makes her one of his deadliest. Other than her fireballs however, she is quite a glass cannon. Jannilius the Strange This Marid is known for his calm behaviour, extensive knowledge of the Multiverse and his reliance on shape-shifting to kill things. Jannilius is an oddity among the demons because as a Marid, you should be an extremely angry, irritated spirit that hates being summoned. Instead, he has a very calm attitude which makes him the most valuable and powerful Marid of them all. A powerful being that doesn't hate your guts and is willing enough to not give you problems is hard to come by. The demon is extremely old and has been in the Other Place longer than most of the Greater Spirits. The reason he has so much knowledge about the universe is that he is actually a creation of Das Jotunheimen Scientists to test whether sleeper agents could be placed inside the Other Place. Unfortunately, the Marid was the only spirit created by the labs before it was blown up for unknown reasons. He defeats foes by shape shifting, his second favourite form being an Ultralisk. Ramuthra the Most Powerful One of the most deadly demons recorded in magical history and the most arrogant, Ramuthra should not be taken lightly. Able to warp the physical state of those around him, control and create all of the elements and release such a large aura of hate and death that even afrits fall to their knees, he is the most powerful spirit in Nathaniel's employ. He takes up so much of The Magician's power that he has to merge with Bartimaeus to even summon him quickly enough to even make him worth it in battle. There is a circle around him with a radius of ten meters that will transport any being in that circle into the abyss of the Other Place. Which, unless you're a spirit, means death. Equally deadly is his ability to turn solids into liquids or gas if you are at the most 30 meters away from him. His ability to manipulate and create all elements is quite scary. His only weakness is his arrogance. Against tougher beings (which is very few in number), he will be killed for his arrogance. He has a kind of respect for Nathaniel and that is the only reason why he is able to summon him without getting killed (aside from the Amulet of Samarkand of course).
