[@thewizardguy] I don't mind SOME OP characters, especially with baddies. We all seem to tolerate OP indviduals to an extent.

But a ridiculously OP army? This isn't a Nation RP. It'll kill all fleets, a few powerful people from othe factions will use the power of friendship or something convoluted to kill off the entire 'army' and voilà. Maybe some alliances will break or it'll end up being char vs char again. 

Sure some big monsters from said army could serve as boss fights to the chars, but I'm mostly concerned about letting such a strong fleet in and doing what conquerors are already doing, but with unstoppable NPC's we'll get bored of fighting after 2 posts. Otherwise it's whatever.
