Though with enough pressure the US could prob make permanent allies out of China due to their huge water problems. If they don't fix their pollution, expect a Chinese cival war in about 15-20 years.

They don't have drinkable tap water, but boiling it makes it drinkable. That and they can easily import from Russia and Canada, albeit it'll affect prices. Other pollution problems are being fixed as fast as possible I believe. I highly doubt civil war will break out because of this in the near future.
