Oooh, my interest.. My basic concept is a there's a generally decadent, content to hide out on their world remnant of humanity, just wanting to live out their lives in luxury. To protect themselves, they made a clone army so that they wouldn't have to do the work. The clones, however, were a bit more ambitious than intended. The clones engineered a leader for themselves, and set about beginning to conquer the stars. They still protect their creators, but merely because it is no burden to them. A special thing about them is they have a psi-rating so negative that it's an advantage. They're resistant/immune (depending on what tech I've gotten) to Psi-Abilities, but can never generate them. So, you can't read one of the clones minds or infect them with a psi-plague, but you could totally still levitate a rock through their head or crush their armor in on them. Checking the wiki soon to see if that relates to anything existing. ~~ So, how realistically are we treating weapon designs? Is it just flavor whether you want to have a bunch of small guns or one ginormous cannon and what's really paid attention to is your tech/type/total points spent? I ask because, treated realistically, lasers via point cost are shown to grow in power linearly, while railguns grow in power exponentially. A railgun with 20 MM round will impart 4 times as much kinetic kill as a railgun with a 10 MM round, given the kind of silly assumption of same round length.
