I'd ask myself how I wanted the RP to continue and how it would fit IC.

If the Pres. dies, the Seps will claim victory and Cyphan will turn against them because they aren't the kind of world to be frightened into submission.  If he lives, though, Dooku will claim that it was just a subordinate taking matters into his own hands, and the stalemate will continue, though the people will lean towards the Republic.  At least until the Seps "find" evidence that it was a false flag attack by the Republic or something.

Also, if he died with a Jedi, several followers of the Cyphan way (the Order I mentioned, but didn't expand on) and security guards/mercs helping out, it makes them and the Jedi look weak, and by extension, the Republic.

Also, him dying makes this more of a battle RP, though I wouldn't hate that if we can still do plenty of character development too.
