And here's Jack!
Name: Jack Harvey Appearance: Jack is a handsome boy, with tanned skin, messy blond hair, blue-green eyes, and an easy smile. He has dimples and stands at 5'10" exactly. His body is slim, but holds a wiry strength one wouldn't expect from a boy his age. He has a runner's build, long and lean. Jack prefers to wear dark jeans and short-sleeved shirts in shades of red and purple, which are always paired with red Converse hi-tops. He'll never take off his shirt, however, not wanting to show anyone the burn scars on his back. Age/grade: 16/10th Power/mutation: Jack is a luxmancer; that is, he controls light. Natural light, artificial light, he can control all of it. He can hold it, bend it, shape it, concentrate it, and store it for later use. This has its uses, liking lighting the dark or blinding his enemies, but he can't control the fires he can start with concentrated light. Medical considerations: Overuse of his power gives him a migraine. Personality: On the outside, Jack is charming, cocky, and a bit of a flirt. All is not as it seems, however. Jack is lonely, but he has trust issues. He doesn't show his true self to anyone, and so has little to no true friends. History: Jack's power emerging was... traumatic, to say the least. All the light in the room he was in concentrated and started a fire. Soon the entire building was a raging inferno, and Jack couldn't escape. So he hid. He crawled into a closet and shut the door, turning his back to it and curling up in a ball. His position protected his face and chest, the doctors said later; his back bore the brunt of the damage. Jack was stuck in the hospital for months, and when the doctors finally let him go, he went to visit his friends and see why they hadn't visited him in the hospital. In the end, he wished he had never asked. When he tried to visit, they slammed the door against him and yelled at him to go away; they didn't want an arsonist anywhere near them. Everyone he tried to talk to turned him away. Eventually, when he was fully healed, Jack took the money he had earned doing small jobs and a backpack full of clothing, and left. As he traveled, Jack eventually figured out his power; light, not fire. He also managed to control it well enough to not burn down a building every time he called on it. No matter what, though, he refused to stay in one place any longer than three days. At least, not until he was found by a teacher of the Xavier Institute. Jack has been going to the Xavier Institute for five months now. His control has improved to the point that he can be a human flashlight without burning down walls because he accidentally concentrated the light too much, but he still feels nervous about using his power without someone nearby who can douse any fires he might cause. Equipment: Jack always has a small flashlight on him, along with a multi-tool, an MP3 player, and a pair of earbuds.
