He acts strong and independent and for the most part, that's true. He doesn't like getting help from others, at all. He also has a huge failure complex. He refuses failing once more. He vowed to clean up Kyushu, his home, once and for all. His goal has ended up with other hunters (and even Onyxians) giving him the nickname of The Janitor. It's also because he always dresses slovenly. Totally not related to the fact that he uses a broom to fight. While he does have a huge sense of justice, he absolutely hates Onyxians because of what they did to his family.
Abe was born in Kyushu. His father was an American soldier while his mother was a painter. Abe was a troublesome child. He always got in trouble with other kids for doing dumb kid things, like jumping out of trees and getting in fights. His father would always chuckle and trust Abe, but his mother would always scold him. Nonetheless, it was a great time. His father, wanting Abe to not fight as much as to appease his mother, sent Abe on a hunt to find some sort of martial arts that he wanted to do. Abe ended up deciding on Naginatajutsu. Years passed. Abe ended up practicing so much that he was extremely proficient at using any sort of glaive-type weaponry. He went abroad to many competitions. From there, he refined his skills and became known around the globe (by Naginatajutsu geeks). When he was 27 years old, he met the love of his life at a local competition. The two of them instantly became friends, then lovers, then spouses. They ended up having a daughter. Sadly, not all tales can be of triumph and romance. There was a huge competition in Osaka. Abe had to go. It was going to be one of his last tournaments. His daughter, being sick, couldn't go, and as such, Abe's wife stayed with their daughter. Abe left to fight. On the eve of the tournament, Abe went out to a restaurant. On the news, all he saw was "Disaster". Some sort of weapon had been dropped over Kyushi island. Abe, disregarding everything about the tournament. He drove to the shore and saw that everything was blockaded. No way back to see if his family was safe. The news stated no survivors. Abe held onto the slight hope that his family would have survived. A group of conspiracy theorists thought that the island was a host of governmental biological weapons testing. Well, they weren't completely wrong. They managed to sneak past the quarantine and onto the island. The 6 of them managed to get to the inner cities before they saw the invalids. None of them stood a chance. None except for Abe. Abe managed to fight 3 of the monstrous beings of flesh and hatred with a rod of rebar. He then went to his home to see his wife, child, and parents. He snuck through a small gap in the window of his barricaded house. Upon searching the home, he learned that his parents were dead. Somehow, they reacted violently to the bioweapon. They slowly perished from virus. His wife and daughter were lucky. Upon speaking with the mother, she wasn't infected with the poisonous miasma. His daughter was infected. Luckily, she kept her mind about her. They spent a week together before a curious beast, similar to his daughter, managed to find their way into the house. Everyone in the house was dead. All except for Abe. Abe skulked around the area to find supplies for his wife and daughter. When he came home, well... Abe swore to get revenge. For his family. For himself. But it was too dangerous to stay on the island without any supplies. He snuck back out of the island, but when he left, he ended up being caught by the JSDF on the other side. Instead of sending him to prison, they asked if he wanted to go back, but with a job. Abe, with nowhere else to go, said yes.
Skills Abe is one of the scariest people to face in one on one combat. His "weapon," so to speak, is oddly powerful. He is also an expert glaive user. His ability to parry attacks, his strength, and even his combat intuition is almost supernatural. While this is all impressive, he's only average at using guns and any sort of other complicated weaponry. As such, he only uses a gun if he absolutely has to. He's one of the longest serving hunters in Kyushu. Weapons The Broom A broom covered in a strange alloy. Self-sterilizing, hydrophobic and durable. Great for lazy cleaners. The Bone Breaker A high-powered 5-shot revolver. Usually supplied by a new prototype of bullet which is some sort of bastardization of FMJ and Hollow-point. Pierces soft, explodes in tougher targets. Has an exploding skull crudely painted on it. Equipment The Headband and Necklace Don't touch either. Or else. Other I didn't add this to the backstory because it was a total mood killer. Basically, Abe got his broom because he used to use stuff like Guan Daos, Glaives and Naginatas. They kept on breaking. People decided on giving him a supply drop with an experimental alloy-weave-spray, allowing him to use one of the weapons without fear. Sadly, he ran out of weapons, and by the time he was surrounded, the only weapon he had was a broom. He did the rational thing: spray the broom. Now he has a kickass broom. The gun was just a test for a company with a supply drop. He found a silver paint pen and drew a skull on it.
