and as for RL events? such as the Afghanistan or Iraq War?

i ask about the RL events to mostly give myself a relateable frame i can work within. its not really a big deal because i am guessing it will not make much of a difference to the plot, its more convenience than anything else. 

oh, And because the conflict ended so recently i think i might be somewhat distrusting of Mutants, more as Character development and interesting conflict between characters, im not planning on fighting anyone lol.
