Act 1: Paradise - 3:42 PM.

The story of Academy 218 begins with the boat ride there. The fresh and old group of students were sent to a coastal city in Alaska via plane, before they were placed onto the boat. The boat was a large, white, luxury Cruise ship. With plenty of places to sit down, as there were chairs, sofas, and more, all littered throughout the three floors presented to the students. Students of all genders, ethnicities, and backgrounds were on the boat. The tall Academy building could be seen looming overhead.

Kiri "Kai" Anaru, & Jessica Sharon Rosefey Jr.

... Instead of enjoying the view, Kai spent nearly the entire trip sleeping. Yes, sleeping. Sitting peacefully in her chair, with her hair slung back, and loudly snoring. Sitting right by one of the windows on the lower deck with a table right in front of her. Despite the auditory chaos going on around her, Kai was capable of staying asleep. Nothing short of hitting her would wake her up. And even then, she'd go back to sleep. What Kai didn't notice was that her control over her chilling aura started to slip. Even through the heavy blue winter coat she was wearing, and baggy jeans, her piece of the room started to chill. Well, this was a gradual process that took place mostly because Kai was in the room for awhile (Mixed with the fact that they were in the Arctics). A layer of frost filled the room, and it quickly started feeling like a refrigerator. Students started shivering, and looking around. They saw that the center of the cold-splash was Kai. Going off all the ice that surrounded the table. "Hey! Why did it get so cold all the sudden?" A girl shouted. "Yo! It's that girl!" A boy pointed at the sleeping Kai. "Wake her up!" It wasn't a moment before a boy came up, and kicked the table that Kai was sitting. Which immediately woke up the bear-like Polynesian girl, and left her rather groggy. Kai looked around, and saw the boy, tall, Hispanic, and had a terrible beard with spots and shit that wouldn't look good on anyone. "Hey, Fatso, wake up." The boy said, hissing at her. "Cool the refrigerator act, fatty." It took a moment to realize that Kai had managed to freeze the room. She immediately looked around, and her cheeks went red with embarrassment. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She said, legitimately remorseful for what she did. "Yeah, you better be-" He grinned, slamming his fist on the table and breaking it. Giving Kai a very frightening look. The girl was a tad afraid, she's never been in a fight with another Metahuman before - nor does she ever want to. "Hey, hey," A red-haired girl came to Kai's defense. Wearing a wide-brimmed cowboy hat, jeans, and a button up shirt. All with a red and blue vintage letterman jacket over it. She put her hands up and looked at the boy. Wasn't afraid for a second. "She was clearly asleep there, bud. While she could have been more careful - you're acting like she did it on purpose." "She needs-" "All she needs to do is be a little bit more careful." The girl said, giving the boy a narrow glare. "Know how many times you broke something?" "How about you mind your business?" The boy hissed at her. "Nope. All you're trying to do is act tough." The girl put her hands on her hips and gave him a sarcastic grin. "Look, I know that the teachers here aren't going to like the fact a fight started right on the boatride here - and they're going to like it less when they hear that I almost trashed the boat, trashin' you." "You bitch." The girl took off her hat, and smirked. She showed the horns on her forehead. "Sorry, kid, might wanna get your eyes checked. I'm a bull, not a dog." "You-" He said, balling his fists. Before he unballed them and shook his head. "Know what? I'm out." He turned off and started walking away. The girl's demeanor didn't change for a moment. She put her hat on the table that was broken, and then shook her head. "God damn, I hope the whole damn school isn't full of guys like him." She turned back towards Kai. "Thank you for that." Kai said very softly, nodding her head. "Don't mention it. I didn't want anyone to interrupt your beauty sleep." The girl flicked her hat upwards a bit. "I don't think I would want to see you turn him into a snowflake anyway." Kai nodded her head. "Oh yeah, name's Jess, yours?" Jessica asked. "Kiri - but everyone calls me Kai." "Well, Kai, it's great that I met you... Though - brrrrrrr - you sure made it cold down here." "Sorry, I can't really help it." Well, Kai could, but she'd have to concentrate. And concentrating took too much effort for the girl. "Hey, that's why you're coming here, right? To make sure things like this don't happen anymore."

Diana Jolene Lucker, & Wendy Emily Lucker.

"Put down the camera." Diana hissed, peeking over towards her younger sister who was hellbent on annoying her with that camera. Wendy, her younger sister (Though, that was a tad hard to tell given how damn taller she was than Diana), was standing at the railing, taking pictures of everything that she found interesting. And it went on for hours. All while Diana was sitting here in the chair. "What?" Wendy said, raising her eyebrow, and staring her gruffer sister right in the eyes. "You've been dicking around taking pictures of everything since we got on this dumb boat." Diana moaned, rolling her eyes - followed by a sharp narrow. "I'm getting sick and tired of hearing a god damn click every five seconds." "What, no!" Wendy said, grabbing the rather expensive camera tightly in between her hands. She put her hand out to the wide open sea. "Do you see all these shots? I think I saw Anchorage on the way here!" Diana rolled her eyes yet again. God damn Wendy was a real piece of work sometimes. She wished that she could have been there earlier so she could show Wendy what life is really like. Instead of Dad letting her laze around all day reading books, and other stupid shit. Well, it is what it is. Like this whole stupid trip to this stupid school. Annoying. Diana shivered. She wished that she didn't wear a skirt, now. She underestimated how cold it'd be. Even though she was wearing a blue sweater that matched her skirt, her short legs were shivering. She pulled her skirt down a little bit. "Hey, Wendy, how about you make a little fire? I'm fucking shivering here." "I told you; you should have wore pants." Wendy smirked a bit, holding the urge to laugh. "Don't give me that shit, Wendy...." Diana trailed off, defeated. "Because I'm two seconds away from setting you on fire." "You know that won't work." Wendy shrugged. That wouldn't work because she'd just adapt the fire power from the flames, and become immune to heat. "Damn it." Diana said. Know what? She had the perfect thing that'd help with her heat problem. She started looking around for a moment, and realized that little attention was on her. Perfect, perfect. She hunched forward a little bit, and pulled out her cigarette, and lighter. Giving the area a cherry scent as she lit it. "You know you're not supposed to do that here." Wendy chided. "What are they going to do, arrest me?" Diana rolled her eyes, as she blew a puff of cigarette smoke out of her mouth. "We're in the back of the boat where no one wants to be - actually, matter fact, why don't you go find someone to talk to? You've been back here with me all day. Go make some friends." She pointed towards the front of the boat. "What? No." Wendy said. "I don't know how many of these kids are delinquents. They might try to beat me up or something." Diana raised an eyebrow. "... And you're acting like you're not? Or you forgot that library you smashed up." She shook her head. "And you messed that place up good. I can't believe you got busted for starting a fight for something lame as a library book. God damn." "He-hey!" Wendy started looking around. "It wasn't my fault-" "It was the drugs, then?" Diana chuckled. "That librarian was being a jerk." Wendy groaned as she furrowed her eyebrows. "Trying to hit me with a giant late fee because I was an hour late on returning the book." She snarled. "... And I didn't expect that she'd have telekinesis." "Well, Wendy," Diana said, "Those NEST assholes just can't do their job and want us on a little island where we'll be out of their hair so they can focus on blowing their cash on cheap-ass hookers." She shrugged, taking another deep puff of her cigarette. "You got shafted, right? You don't know who else has been either. So chill and find some common ground with someone." Diana had a point there. Maybe Wendy will go off and find someone to talk to - mostly because she doesn't want to get cancer from second-hand smoking. She nodded her head and started walking off wordlessly. "... Show 'em your camera!" Diana shouted, before focusing on the sea behind the boat.

Abigail "Pink" Vincigarru.

The one thing that Pink hated than the fact that she was forced to go to this stupid school? The boat ride there. Dear God the boat ride. Pink would rather swim, or fly, there, than sit on this boat full of losers as they gawk at literally everything they see. Hey losers? Ever see the Discovery Channel? God damn. Pink was on the top deck of the boat, sitting on a chair with her legs on the table. Doing nothing but twiddling her thumbs as she waited for the moment she'd get some god damn sweet relief and be allowed to get off this boat. Otherwise, she was wondering if she could fly or swim the rest of the way there. Pink leaned back a bit in her seat, and looked at the guitar at her side. She could play with that for a little bit, but, honestly, she wasn't in the mood for it. She just wanted off this damn boat already! Part of the problem was probably the fact that it was cold as balls up here. Even wearing a leather jacket, a T-shirt, and rather tight jeans, she was cold. Well, she could fix that a little bit. She created a bit of steam out of her hands, which certainly warmed up her hands a little bit. Along with heating up the rest of her body. A pleased smile formed on her face as she exposed those triangle-shaped teeth of hers. People could notice the steam going upwards. Now, what the hell should she do next?

Trish Kaitlin O'Malley.

The halls of the school were relatively empty. All that walked them were Trish, and the were students that arrived here ahead of time (For whatever reason). The loud tapping of Trish's heels hitting the ceramic floors of the halls echoed. Ah, the silence. Trish was glad to be the very first person on the island. So she could have a bit of peace and before the students come and it explodes into an inaudible cloud of noises and shouting. Trish was looking forward to meeting all the new, lovely, students. The woman looked to the side, and noticed that the boat carrying the students was in the distance. It was only a blot - but she was here for so long that she knew exactly when it was coming. Well, she best get ready, she'll have to put on a pretty face and- Her phone, in the breast pocket of her black suit, started ringing, and she grabbed it. Maximilian Cornell. Oh boy, what does the boy wonder want today? Trish smirked as she pressed the phone up against her ear after pressing answer, "Oh hello there, Boy Wonder? How are you doing? Are you cancelling your scheduled visit already?" If only Maximilian could see the wry grin on her face. "No, no..." Maximilian said on the other end. "I just came to ask you to do a favor." "Oh a favor... this should be good." Trish said in a sultry tone. "Anything for my commanding officer - Even if I'm not with NEST anymore." There was a moment as files were opened on the other end. "This might be going against regulations and our agreement with the Academy just a little; but I want you to scope some of these kids out, and tell me who'd be the best to refer to NEST." "Ooooh." Trish said, laughing some more. "It's my job to shape up these kids. You know how many were close to getting collared and thrown in a cell?" She came to a stop the moment the last word came out of her mouth. "I know - but NEST is a little short on Agents at the moment. Specifically Metahumans." "I'll see about it. I'm certain that a few would just love to become a badass NEST Agent like moi." Trish said, putting her hand on her chest. "Otherwise, I'm going to just focus on training them so that they meet NEST standards, and so that they don't go out and do anything stupid that'd get them sent to the slammer." She tapped her foot on the ground a little bit. "I'd hate to find out that they're putting my training to bad use." "Understood. Don't be overt or anything." Maximilian said. "And... if anything goes wrong; give me a call, and I'll have a team there in no time. Straight from Anchorage." "Puh-lease, nothing ever happens here other than a fight. The Storm has this in the bag." Trish said, laughing a bit. "Trish O'Malley, out." Trish said, before hanging up the phone. Well, she best get ready.
