The battle was a slaughter right from the beginning. Scores of kest charged at the knights only to be put down one after the other. Even with the knights' solid defense the kest were still proving to be a formidable foe. The horde pushed harder and harder at the main group, despite cythlla's enchantment the kest swarmed them like a powerful wave of flesh and razor sharp mandibles. It wasn't until the premature vat dump that the kest began to redirect their efforts. Now instead of sending stragglers after the vat team, a good portion of the horde began to head towards them. The combined screeches of the kest warriors echoed throughout the foundry chambers they hurried to put down the destroyers of their hive. As for the molten steel, it cascaded down to the level where most of the knights were currently engaged. Fortunately, the error in execution proved to be beneficial anyway as a good number of kest were killed as a result. Their bodies stacked atop another it began to form a mound which guided the molten steel towards the lower level where the Queen resided but it was not enough to touch her. Evelyn saw the dumping of the vat and at first was agitated but bit her tongue upon realizing it was still effective. The horde had separated at this point and a smaller yet still large mass of kest had descended upon the vat group. "Cythlla! Do something to help the other group! The rest of you cover her while she casts her spell, once that's done we push forward!", Evelyn yelled her orders over the roar of battle before firing a chain of vicious lightening into the horde, carefully controlling it's arcs the lightening jumped rapidly from the kest closest to the front. So as to put some space between Cythlla and the enemy.
