He sat silent for a bit, listening as she spoke. "Well, living another day is as good a reason as any for celebration, I suppose." He raised his mug along with her, taking a drink in a sort of toast. Letting out a satisfied sigh as he wouldn't bother to savour this drink quite as long, he set it down gently. Listening to her go on once more, he nodded every now and then to assure her he was listening, the same smile remaining on his face as he watched her quietly. As she addressed the ale, he took another drink, nodding his head as he looked over the drink in his hand momentarily. "You're not wrong, it's decent stuff - unfortunately I haven't managed to secure a bed yet myself." He shrugged his shoulders, leaning back in his seat. "Running low on coin, i'm afraid." In reality, he was doing just fine on coin, at least, he certainly had enough on his person to secure a room for the night. Raising an eyebrow at her query, he figured it was inevitable. Resting his forearms on the table, he shrugged simply and allowed the right side of his lips to curl up into more of a smirk. "Nothing thrilling i'm afraid, or quite as noble as healing wounded soldiers." Her began simply, reaching up with his free hand to scratch at some of the stubble on his face, it'd been a few days since he'd been able to shave, and while it didn't look terrible, it was clear enough the man hadn't had a comfortable night for a while. "Just happened to be the next spot on the road, i'd have taken the longer way around, but I can handle myself well enough not to worry about the war zone." He figured it was best to avoid the exact reason for his presence in Salarn, but he hadn't exactly, or at least completely lied.
