Hope looked at Grant up and down with squinted eyes. She had this feeling that he was going to shift at any moment and eat her, his laughter making her slightly suspicious. Hope quickly shook that thought away then rubbed her belly. Even though she ate food at the forest and even titans when she shifts, she was still hungry. Most of that energy goes to her fire powers: keeping her warm and letting her have a fiery protection around her titan body.

Her gums were starting to hurt due to her titan teeth, and the monster side of her was demanding food. Hope started to rub her temples with both of her hands, trying her best to calm the pain. Hope guessed that Grant had the 'better' side of the titan abilities: less food and sleep, but had a higher chance of shifting.
