Based on what I read about it so far and the comparison so far, I assumed (no doubt my first mistake) that we were in a world where everything is trying to kill us, madness and disease are as rampant as water and dust, and so forth. I just thought it might be unrealistic in this unending, inexplicable, nightmarish miasma of death, rot, and torment that several characters might fall in love at first sight, dash passionately past the rat monsters and tentacle fiends, and nip off to the a nice graveyard for sexytimes.
