Mors vincit omnia
[sub](Death conquers all)[/sub] Ferrin, Colt and Claire Ferrin lead the Twin through the twisty, mazelike city, taking random turns, backtracking, and doing anything he could to shake a persuer. The stopped in a dead end back alley. It was empty of people, but full of garbage, and smelled like it. "Why have we stopped?" Colt asked. "Are we safe?" Ferrin was looked around. "Sure, sure." He said, disractedly. He walked around, seemily aimlessly, occasionally picking up something and looking under it. "Eww... Claire said, when Ferrin picked something up and a huge cockroach skittered out from under it. "What are you doing?" She demanded of Ferrin. "Counting...sh." She put her hands on her hips. "Counting what? The insects? What are we even doing here? Some maniac is up to something, and here we are picking through trash. Do you even have a brain in that head of yours? Do you even realize whats going on?!" She went off on a firy trade that went for a full minute or two. When she had finished, Ferrin seemed un moved. "Ixnay." Was the only thing he said. Claire wasn't sure how to respond, so she stopped. I change my mind, somewhere, a village it missing it's idiot. She thought to Colt. Claire, can't you see he is doing his best? There mist be a point to what he is doing, so leave him be. Colt thought. Claire didn't like it, but she kept quiet. Four more minutes passed, without a word between them, and even Colt was wavering. Finaly he said "Do you think---" But whatever he was about to say was never to be said, for at the end of the alley, ten undead, five skeletons with swords, two with bows, and three rotting corpses rose from the earth. One of the skeletons had that same purple glow coming from inside it's skull. "Backing yourself into a corner? Not very smart." The necromancer laughed. "Oh no." Colt said. Ferrin straighted, and grinned. "Seven minutes." He said. "It took you seven minutes to find us." The necromancer laughed again. "I hope you enjoyed them, because they are the last you will ever have! Get them!" The undead charged. Ferrin picked up the Twin in his arms. "Hold on tight, this could get bumpy." He said, as he crouched as if to jump. "Aether Enhance, Leg Point!" Claire looked at him, crimson eyes wide. "Wait, what are you planning to---HOLY CRAP!" Her question changed to a shout of alarm as Ferrin jumped. No, wait, that doesn't convey what happened. Ferrin sprang, high in the air, easily clearing a three story building. He looked down at her. "What is wrong?" Back below him, several magical traps he had set, triggered in wave of frost magic that froze every undead solid. Claire cluched, despratly to Ferrin. "No, no, you don't understand, I'm--I'm." She stuttered. Ferrin lost momentum and he started falling, but he landed on a building, his enhanced legs easily taking the impact. Then he sprang again, this time about five total stories up. Ferrin grinned, by her reaction, he though he knew what it was. "Yes?" He said, fax-patiently. She tried to gare at Ferrin. "I'm afraid of hights, okay, you ass!" She shouted. Her expression then went blank, and her eyes changed color. "Then I'll take over." Colt said. Ferrin chuckled as he kept springing from building to building, making his way straight across town. "Our next move is to find out where this person is and what they are planning to do." Ferrin had this nagging feeling he couldn't pimpoint. Something that he felt was incredibly importaint. A connection...The Grand Magic Games...Crocus...Necromancy... No, he still could not remember it for the life of him. "How are we going to do that?" Colt asked. Ferrin frowned. "I am not sure. I think I know how they are tracking us, but I don't know if she is tracking me or you. I have sometimg I want to look into, but I need...time. He said. Ferrin came to a stop on the rooftop of a tall building. He set Colt down and extended his magical senses. He could feel the magic of the Twin, next to him, a feeling akin to having a fire on one side of his body and a blizard on the other. Further out, he could also feel the overwhelming amount of magic from the thousands of wizards gathered here, and the Coliseum emitted so much magic, he was half surprised it hadn't exploded. He searched for any traces of familiar magic, but he couldn't find any. Valak is not the type to expend magic. It would be nearly impossible to find him, even with telepathy. He was about to give up when he felt a very familiar and massivly powerful magic. It is him. Fate my be playing a cruel joke, but beggers can't be choosers. Ferrin turned to his small companion. "Alright, I have a plan, but I don't think you will like it. You two are going to need to trust me on this one." Colt tried to interrupted, but Ferrin stopped him. "I am 95% sure that the necro is tracking you two, so we will need to split up, briefly. I don't want to leave you alone, so I'll leave you with a...friend. Here." Ferrin pulled a ring with a black onyx setting out of his pocket and handed it to them. "This is a ring that hides you from magical detection. However, the downside is that it absorbs your external magic, so any spell you cast will be weaker. You can activate it to realise all the magic it has gathered in one burst, but when you do, do not point it at anything you want to keep." Colt took the offered ring and looked up at Ferrin with a slight bit of anger. "Dispite what we look like, we are not kids." Ferrin nodded. "But right now, you might as well be." He said. Colt looked down at his feet. "I know, I just...no, we just hate being weak and powerless." Ferrin pitied them. He laid a hand on their shoulder. "I know how you feel. I swear, I will do everything I can to reverse what was done to you." Ferrin picked up the resolute Colt and homed in on the magic he felt earlier. He hopped from building to building until he caught up to his target. "Incoming! He shouted as he hit the ground next to the man and plowed a furrow through it to stop. He set down the Twin, and turned to Time Lord. "I have a huge favor to ask of you. I know we haven't known each other for long, and this is abrupt, but this is very importaint. I need you to watch over these two," He said, gesturing to the Twin. "They are being persued by a powerful and dangerous person. I need somone I can trust to protect them, and you are at the top of a damn short list." Ferrin waited for Time Lord's reply. [@Caits]
