back to reality. Then the girl who had been standing in the middle of the café, decided it was time to get some tea. She seemed dense. Ray stared at her for a second when she wondered whether or not they had tea. "It's pretty safe to assume we have tea. Any preferences for the kind of tea? I have one that helps relax, you might want to try that one." He had just the thing for her.  *Mèèèèh..Mèèèh*  That was his phone telling him he got a text. Ray flipped it open to look at what his sister had send him. He scratched his nose as he read it.  To: Clarissa From: Ray Wait what? I thought those were just rumours. Do you know who's behind it? Shit. Sorry sis. Poor Viv. He had made a hasty conlusion about his sister. Not that she wouldn't do the same about him, but still. From all the cool gods that he could be descendant from, he hád to be part of the drama family. Even though he tried to distance himself from all that, it was in his veins too.  Back to the tea. With his back towards his guests -so they couldn't see what he was doing- he opened one of the jars. In it was their normal teablend. He took a small amount in his hand and rubbed it with both his palms for about ten seconds. That should do the trick. He then poured the infused tea into a little teabag, which he hung in a cup of hot water. It looked exactly like what you'd expect a cup of tea to look like. Little plate, little spoon, sugar and a cookie on the side. He turned around and placed it in front of his customer.  "There you go. I just gave the snake a free drink, so I might as well.. It's on the house. You're probably my last customers for today anyway." It was slowly getting dark outside. Ray walked over to the front door and turned around the sign that hung there. Then back to his place behind the counter, where he started drying the last cups that came out of the dishwasher.  "So have you guys heard about these kidnappings? Apparently the rumors are more than just that. Some students have actually gone missing." Marilee felt her face turn a bit pink as the guy who worked behind the counter asked her just what kind of tea she wanted. Of course they had tea. Most any places that served coffee had tea. But when he mentioned a tea to help her relax, a small frown formed on her face. Was she really so tense that even a stranger could see it?  "Just black tea, please" the dark haired girl said softly. Her relax? That probably wouldn't happen no matter what kind of tea she had. Herbs and things had some powerss, in her belief, but they were not that powerful. Not for her rigid defense, mastered through years of strict emotional repression. A small smile tugged at the corner of her dark colored lips. No, herbal tea effects didn't last long. Especially not when in the presence of strangers.  Sitting up straight, she let her hands fall to her lap as the guy behind the counter fixed her drink. Glancing over to the girl beside her, she wondered if she should at least try to start a conversation. It would be nice to know someone at the Academy before having a face to face meeting estranged half-siblings, who were probably much more confident and shining than her.  But instead her tea was placed in front of her, well plated and all, and her server spoke leisurely over his duties. Snake? What snake? Unlike most fully mortal females, snakes had never bothered Marilee much. As long as she left them alone, they never seemed to take much interest in the Daughter of Hecate. Taking a sip of her tea after mixing in a bit of the sugar, she wondered just what the snake the guy was taking about. Was it a real snake, or a metaphor, or maybe a nickname...? "Are you sure it's on the house?" Marilee asked raising her soft voice just a little so her could hear her, "I really d-don't mind...paying...for...it..." Suddenly she wasn't feeling very much like her usual uptight and anxious self. Instead it was like there was warmth spreading from her toes all the way up to her brow. Like warm tendrils of soothing light melting away any form of strict control she had mastered to keep herself in check. It was highly unsettling. If only she could tell her brain to be anything other than soothed and giddy... "Pardon...me..." Marilee blinked hard, as though it were difficult to keep her mind focused and alert, "I don't... What was in...?" The scarlet stained magic that always shimmered under her skin wriggled its way out to dance around her hands. Just as her hands started to glow, so did her eyes. Their pale and almost colorless depths turned red, though unlike all the times before this red was soft and warm, instead of bursting and violent. The lights just above her pulsed brighter than normal. Her tea started to levitated out of its cup, the cute cookie it had been plated with drifting weightlessly around in the air. The cup on the saucer started to tremble before it too started to drift up in casual orbit around her. It was so hard focusing. Everything felt too warm, too at ease and too...sweet. A slow smile crossed her face, turning the usual tense and grim features into that of almost serene delight. A small giggle spilled from her lips which dark painted fingers pressed in surprise. "Hey..." she pointed at the guy drying washed dishes as if to try an bring his attention back. There was something she needed to ask him. What did she need to ask him? "Hey!" she managed a shout but it quickly ended in an warm and feminine grin with a flick of her glowing finger. The plate that had been on the table shot through the air and stopped, hovering right in front of his face, before drifting like a feather down into the sink. Such a thing like a plate mocking a light feather made Marilee's breathy and almost unsure laugh melt into something a bit less overthought and strained. Like a real girlish laugh. Of course till she realized the guy had said something about kidnapping on campus.  Slumping over the counter, her cheek resting in the palm of her glowing red hand, she watched as tea, cookie and cup drifted around her head, sometimes proding them with the spoon in her hand, as the lights above her pulsed gently. Bright, not so bright, bright, not so bright... "Kid-napkin?....Wouldn't....Demi kids...blow their...nappers away..." her voice sounded dreamy and amused, the shadowed features of her mother's smile shinning through on her own face. "Couldn't...Mom Gods and Dad Gods....stop...napkins? Easy...as pie... Pie sure is...yummy..." And with that lovely speech, she took a bite of the cookie that dared drift too close to her mouth. Johanna, throughout the whole ordeal, slowly sipped from her latte, fingers tapping against the countertop at a rapid pace. Fidgeting was just something she did when she was interested but standing still in an attempt to prove that she did have patience, because patience was a virtue. She eyed the girl curiously, and Ouroborous stuck his little triangular head out from the other side of his coffee, tongue lashing the air. "She tastesss like ssssleep, misssstress," Oreo informed her promptly. "Ssssleep and magic." Johanna wasn't at all surprised by that. According to both of her snakes (but especially Ouroborous, who had a talent for sniffing out the occult) Olympus Academy felt like it was encased in 'magic' because of the barrier. "And they didn't just wander off campus?" Johanna asked. "I only ask because there's a girl in my building who leaves at exactly 3am every Saturday morning, and, well... Maybe others do it?" Of course, being the sort of heroes that literally existed in Greek mythology nowadays, Joey had to admit that it didn't seem at all unlikely that there were villains, too.
