Bio: Twenty-four years ago I was created in B.R.F research labs. I was a failure. I did not pass the physical tests. I was not fast enough. I was not strong enough. I had no special ability. I was useless. I was 16 when the tests began. A young girl by the name of Cale was brought in, and underwent the same physical tests with me. She outperformed me in every way, despite being much younger. I could feel her presence differently than that of my caretakers. It was not dissimilar to the warmth of a fire. Comforting. She was kind, and she saw my suffering and shortcomings. When she heard that I was scheduled for extermination, she saved me. I do not know how. I only know what Cale told me before slipping a bandana and goggles onto my head: “I’m sorry this happened to you. My name is Cale, perhaps I shall meet you on the outside. Run.” The B.R.F must have thought me dead, because neither they nor the World Government Associate give me trouble. I was free to go. I did not blend well with society. I communicated silently, finding solace with the homeless who did not ask many questions. Through them, I learned of this world I was created in. I ran across an old couple early on who took me in. They ran a homeless shelter in the World Government Association’s Seventh Octant. I was only allowed to stay a few days before being forced to leave, but I was given advice on obtaining an inexpensive cybernetic enhancement that might suit me. Enter the audio navigator. This was a small enhancement to the ear, along with some specially modified goggles. The goggles had a tiny sound emitter that was tuned to a frequency above natural hearing potential. The ear enhancement enabled me to hear that specific frequency. It took practice, but with this I was able to navigate daily life. I blended in as a mechanic’s apprentice for a time, but lacked the precision to do any meaningful work. I became an audiophile. I enriched my mind with not only music, but sounds of the world. What I couldn’t experience in person I experienced through virtually created sounds, which ended up being a treat of their own. Concerts were to die for. The silence of nothing but the wind at the heights of buildings was my high. I couldn’t create the sounds very well myself. I lacked the funds to purchase an instrument. Even if I could, who would teach me? Then one day I heard a voice… “Would you like to play?” Special gear or equipment: Audio Navigator, Broken Sonar Equipment, Master mechanic’s spare parts, parts and plans registry/lookup device.
