In an alternate Earth, one where the ancient stories of gods, demons, and other fantastic creatures are mostly true. Many ancient deities, referred to as corporeal gods, as they walk around in physical form, interact with humans for the most part, though their state as deities makes them arrogant. They treat humans as Kings treat peasants, if not worse. History occurred roughly as it did in this universe, though the Catholic Church never achieved religious dominance in Europe, merely in the Holy Roman Empire (northern Italy) and is a major religion in Jerusalem, as they sent many troops there to reinforce the locals several hundred years ago. When the new world was discovered people, not all of them human, started moving there. The first city founded there was Seaside City (roughly our Boston). Once enough people were there, they declared the area to be the State of Seaside (often called "Triple S"), an independent state. It continued to grow through trade with the other colonies and the Old World, and became a major trade hub for the area, and a place where people from many cultures around the world come together. We are all in the city, and happen to be at the docks, maybe having just got off the boat, maybe living in the city or state already, when we are stopped by a man from a local newspaper who is doing a survey. That's where our story begins.
[s]I'm going to create a stat system for the game so we can use dice rolls to determine how effective our actions are,[/s] but I'll need a co-GM to do the rolls when I'm not available. Also to help me work out the exact story and tweak the stats system. The "advanced" part is in the detail and descriptive language. Most of the posting will likely be done in meetingwords/titanpad, then transferred here. You will be the one to say what the roll does for the most part, though occasionally (you roll all sixes, chaos magic is used, etc.) I might say that something specific happened.
Strength: Number of d6 rolled for melee attacks. Endurance: Damage threshhold and number D6 rolled for Demonic magic and resistance to it. Agility: Number D6 rolled for ranged attacks and dodges Intelligence: Number D6 rolled for Spirit and Holy magic, and resistance to it. Will: Number D6 rolled for Elemental and Ki magic, and resistance to it. Luck: Used for gambling and D6 rolled for thrown weapons. NPCs won't have stated stats (for the most part), but I'll weigh your rolls against what I think it should be. Ex: Shapeshifter will have super high agility and HP, but low strength. An imp will also have good agility, and a touch of telekinesis, but will be weak and easy to kill. A successful roll will affect your target based on how much you exceed their resistance by (in GM estimation). Equal rolls will do nothing, but they'll feel it. Rolling way high will have a massive effect.
