Watch that part of the video or read the article, it's very feminist
Oh, sorry I took the way you worded it the wrong way lmao. I understand what you mean now. I don't necessarily agree with everything said, but there are a few points I'd like to address:
Yet they will viciously tear up people who go against them with a witchunting mob-mentality like that one scientist who actually broke down in tears because of a fucking shirt he was wearing.
yeah that was pretty fucked up.
- The idea that gender is but a social construct (its not)
I'd beg to differ. Sex (the physical/biological characteristics of males and females) is different from gender. Gender is how a society/culture/etc defines the sexes. To (probably most of) society, men aren't just defined by having a dong. You should have the body of a man, the mind of a man, so forth. That's gender. You can be biologically male (as in, your sex is male, you have a male reproductive system and so forth) but you can be female gender-wise. You can have the body of a female, the voice of a female, so forth. Correct me if I'm wrong, but gender is a social construct. Sex isn't.
- Saying that a man being homosexual is his choice while a man being heterosexual is the result of society (dafaq? This is more hypocrisy than the medieval Catholic church.).
I've never seen anyone say that, but I wouldn't doubt it being said by someone. I agree with this being stupid.
- Mob mentality and victim playing
As someone on the "good" side of tumblr where I found myself a drama-less corner, I see toxic mob mentality so much and it's not even just radical feminists/SJWs. Tumblr as a whole has a really nasty problem with mobbing and it's honestly just disgusting. Someone decides something an artist did three years ago was Problematic and then a bunch of people jump on board the lynch train and drive them straight off the website with a myriad of things, including but not limited to: death threats, personal insults in general, spamming, and rumor spreading. IMO it's just kinda a big problem with our society in general, though the bunch of peeps you guys hate is especially notorious for it.
Anyone else notice how most feminist/SJWs are all middle class white women or white knights (who are trying to get laid by saying they're 'feminists')? I find it interesting how in history its usually the black, the asians, the natives, etc etc who draw the short end of the stick yet you don't hear them complain as much or get nearly as much media attention when they do.
Most of the so-called "feminazis" talked about a lot on this thread tend to be white women carrying a particularly bad kind called White Feminism. They're easy to make fun of because of their, uh, interesting views, and they're dealing with issues they have with the "healthy" part of society. People of color (+ actually normal feminists), along with having traditionally been less represented in the media, deal moreso with the more real, actually-serious-issues-we're-all-ignoring-to-argue-against-first-world-white-feminism things. Like the treatment of women in the middle-east, the restrictions & problems with women's health care (ie. abortion and the like), and so forth. This is the kind of feminism that should be respected and supported by everyone. I'm not saying the more "superficial", more radical-ish feminism isn't valid, but there is a very real need for feminism in the world still. We also need equal for women AND men. Custody settlements are disgustingly weighted against men, and things like that need to be ended. Women aren't as safe as men are on the streets, and things like that need to be ended. I kind of went on my own little tangent there, but basically my point is that there's an important type of feminism in this world, and it's not about lynching someone wearing a shirt depicting a scantily clad woman. First-world society also needs to make men and women actually equal. But, that's all my opinion. Feel free to correct me if you think I'm wrong anywhere.
