But punishment should. He is your son. Show him you love him by punishment. It sounds ironic, I know. But he won't know that you are sorry and that you love him like you say without you showing concequence for his actions. If you left him at a young enough age, then he still has that child-like mind that he hasn't expressed yet. He will know that his actions are wrong and that you are there to help. I know.
