A tall, thin man with a rather gaunt face mostly hidden by a thick black beard. He is rarely seen without either a helmet or a hat of some kind, but in the rare event that he was glimpsed without headgear his dark hair is visibly beginning to thin on top and you might be able to spot the beginnings of a comb-over. 


[b]Personality:[/b]
Strict but fair, with a tendency towards sarcasm. The men under Nalto's command have rarely felt they had much to complain about once they got over his past affiliations, aside from his strict rules on uniform. The captain prides himself on his standing and his outward appearance to the point that he will meticulously inspect his uniform in the mirror for several minutes at a time, picking off dust and dirt as he finds it. He hasbeen known to get very upset if he is found to be untidy, and especially if anyone were to see him without a hat and point out his balding.


[b]History:[/b]
Born on Alderaan to an esteemed noble house, his father Lord Nalto was a devout man of the Empire and a firm supporter of Palpatine's reign. When Zyrell came of age, he was immediately packed off the Imperial Navy Academy where he was put through officer training and eventually given the rank of Ensign on the Victory-class Star Destroyer [i]Illustrious[/i]. Ten years later he was on the brink of being promoted to captain of his own ship, having been called to the Empire's new moon-sized base of operations for a promotion ceremony. It was here that he witnessed firsthand the destruction of his homeworld and resultant murder of his entire family. 

Despite the rage and sorrow that boiled within him, Zyrell continued with the promotion ceremony. He forced a smile as he accepted the new ranking pin. He forced himself to shake the hand of the Grand Moff, on whose orders his planet had been vapourised. He even managed to salute and sing along to the national anthem of the Empire which he now despised. He did all these things because the entire time he was planning his defection to the Rebel Alliance, and he smiled as he imagined the look on the Grand Moff's face if his plan came together.

Taking command of his new ship, the Imperial-class Star Destroyer [i]Dominator[/i], Captain Nalto began to attempt contact with the Rebellion and discuss plans for a defection - intending to bring his new ship along as a gift. The possibility of stealing an Imperial battleship proved too great a temptation to pass up, and sure enough he barely had to wait a day before contact was established and the plans were made. Nalto leaked course information to the Rebel fleet allowing the [i]Dominator[/i] to be ambushed above Malastare. He ordered the crew to surrender and was taken aboard the flagship of the Rebel fleet, shaking hands personally with Admiral Ackbar and turning his ship over to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. At Zyrell's insistence, the [i]Dominator[/i] was renamed [i]Alderaan's Revenge[/i] and after a short refit was pressed immediately into service in the Rebel fleet.

Less than a week later, Zyrell was on his way to Yavin with the rest of the fleet when he heard the news of the destruction of the Death Star and the death of the Grand Moff, news which brought a smile to his face. They arrived in the system in time to help with the evacuation of Yavin IV. Despite having proved himself a valuable ally to the Alliance, the High Command were concerned with having one of their greatest military assetts in the hands of a recent defectee. As such, Zyrell was removed as commander of the [i]Alderaan's Revenge[/i] and sent to Corellia to prove himself training new recruits for service.
