A good counterpart to Lyric's shyness. Can be too confident in Lyric's abilities and push her too much, making her feel like she didn't live up to her mentor's image of her. Not too tall, but not overly short, average body size. Blond, curly hair and hazel eyes. Name is Sylvia Oakwood.
Hero or Villain
Leaning towards Hero, could be persuaded either way.
In Depth Appearance
Lyric has deathly pale skin, almost white but with just enough color to call it pale. In contrast, she has inky black  hair. It's long and unkempt, sort of wavy, and almost never is seen tied or styled in any way. She has seafoam eyes, which usually seem dull. She also can often be seen with clear dark circles under her eyes, a sign that she doesn't get much sleep. She has a blatant scar on her left cheek, but won't say where she got it. Her neutral expression always looks sort of tired. She has very little eyebrow and rather thick lashes as well. Her lips are always lightly chapped, though she's not quite sure how or why.  She wears mostly blue things, usually long-sleeved shirts and jeans. Though not usually badly affected by weather, she's opposed to wearing T-shirts. Lyric has one tattoo on the left side of her neck. It depicts a teal flame and the words "I promised not to hurt myself anymore." She says she has another, but it's more personal and she doesn't want anyone to see it. She enjoys going out barefoot, but wears navy blue tennis shoes to most places despite this. Normally, she's very reserved, keeping to herself and not disturbing anyone. She's very uncomfortable around crowds, not liking noise in general. Her ideal environment would be a silent, orderly room with a pile of books and a cup of blueberry tea. Lyric doesn't talk much, staying away from most people for good reason. She's not used to being around so many odd people like herself, but it doesn't change her resolve not to talk. When presented with the opportunity to help out, especially in manual labor, Lyric will jump at the chance. She enjoys the sort of meticulous or routine task offered by that. She's easily talked into things if she's allowed anyone to become close to her, despite her isolation. She believes that is someone has won her trust, they must be trustworthy.  Lyric is very secretive, not being one to tell anyone everything. Even if one were to win her trust, she would still keep many things from them. She trusts herself more than anyone else in the world. In a situation where Lyric would be forced to defend herself, she would more likely run from the confrontation than fight. She came to camp to rid herself of that trait. If faced with an uncomfortable situation, she would likely refrain from going any further into the conversation and try to change the topic. Lyric can be very defensive, but knows when to admit defeat better than most. She would not fight a losing battle.

D E F I N I N G  M Y  P A S T
History
Lyricsia Clow Tidepool was born as the daughter of some people she doesn't remember. She remembers living as part of a group of scavenging children for a long time. Until she was ten years of age, she was allowed to travel with a band of kids trying to survive. She doesn't remember what city they'd lived in, as most of the time with those children was spent sick or sleeping. She had been a very frail child, but tried to help as much as she could. When she was ten, the city passed an act allowing human testing to be done on willing volunteers. Lyric gladly accepted, hoping they could make her stronger against her perpetual frailty. That they did, but they also helped her by allowing her to gain elemental magic.  As they messed around with her genetic code, they altered certain things to make her immune system stronger. They also released a limiter on her ability to use her inherent ability, incorrectly identifying it as a limiter on her muscle strength. She didn't discover it until she was let out of testing a few months later. She lived for a few years on the streets of London, where she'd been taken for use of their laboratories. She was taken in by an orphanage, where she gained her isolated and shy nature. After another few calm years, she had a fight with an orphan boy and grew very angry. She summoned seawater and sprayed him in the eyes.  Seeing the act of magic, she was beaten and called a witch before being kicked out of the house. This encouraged her not to speak to people so that she wouldn't grow angry and be hurt again. She lived on the streets again, another few years. She came to discover the camp by way of a man who said he could see her magic with his one red eye. He handed her a scrap of paper and told her to go there, and so she did, hoping they could teach her not to run away, or how to control her element. Hopefully both. This is her first summer at the camp. She knows nothing of it as of yet.
