Theresa ot an Bol'hjar, Benedict Kaspin

The cobblestone beneath the duo's feet was barely visible with all the dust, bodies, and rubble scattered about. Nowhere in sight looked to be free of anything indicating the carnage that took place here. "All these bodies..." Theresa began to say as she walked, "I can barely tell who was allied with who. There's people in peasant garb, church robes, metal coats, flesh coats..." "And then there's the nonhuman bodies." Quite a few were around as well. Bodies of monstrous beings, some relatively intact, others so torn apart by explosions and riddled with bullet holes that it was impossible to tell what they used to be. "This was one hell of a battle." Theresa commented, lowly. The street ahead of them was blocked by rubble, so they elected to cut through an alley to the right. They passed under a stained, broken window, both wondering just how all of this happened. "I forgot to mention it earlier, but..." Theresa began, "I'm pretty sure we're both seeing the same scene now, right? No split in perception?" "None. Far as I can tell." Ben replied. Something was wrong with his tone. He lost the chipper attitude he had when they were coming here. They exited the alleyway and entered an open section of the city. All around them was more of what they'd already seen so far. Right before them was a large building that had been crushed under the fallen corpse of a gigantic, six-legged creature. Under its blanket of dust were what looked like sections of meat and bone, damaged from artillery fire. Its head was split open, charred and mangled. "This..." Theresa exclaimed, "How did they manage to kill this?" "Artillery. Lots of artillery. Not a lot of things can stand up to that." Theresa turned her head, observing the open district square. "Something's alive out there." She said, with a bit of worry. Ahead, stumbling amidst the wreckage, was a slender figure wearing a hooded cloak of withered flesh, draped in dust, walking on two metal legs with strips of flesh interwoven between them. The face under the hood was nothing but a flickering light. It seemed like it was... lost. "Think it's hostile?" "Could be. If not... could tell us something about the place. Maybe point us to the old district." Theresa nodded, and the two approached the figure.
