"Well... Technically I'm not human, so..." Takeshi began, not wholly sure where he was going with that. Finishing off the sentence with a shrug he gave Viral a sheepish grin, rubbing the back of his neck as they fell into an awkward silence. What more could he honestly say? And why did he have to explain why he thought of someone as a friend? He didn't want to keep going back to fighting or strength but that was a big part of it, as was what had been done for him in the past. Trying a different approach he tried to praise what Viral had done since their meeting, figuring maybe bringing up some high points would cheer him up. Or it could piss him off, that too. Though it wasn't a total bust, maybe he could work with that. "I've killed people too, more recently than you have even. I've stolen and I've killed and lied and cheated all through my life, but I'm a good guy now, you know? And it's different, wanting to kill an awful person, they deserve it. It's one thing if you want to kill some innocent person, its another thing if its a criminal or a murderer." Shu of course disagreed and thought anyone could be changed regardless of what they had done. Takeshi still wasn't completely convinced of that yet, but he was proof enough of how someone could turn themselves around. "Look... Maybe sometimes the stuff we do isn't the best, but we do it for the right reasons, yeah? We want to protect someone, or something, or we feel like we're threatened, I don't know. My point is that sometimes good people do bad things, but that doesn't make them a bad person." He certainly couldn't offer a definition of what friendship was, he still didn't know entirely himself. Far as Takeshi was concerned you couldn't do that anyways as friendships were so different; everyone in their group was his friend, they were just friends for different reasons. Yumi wanted to try and offer a meaning of friendship herself, but she couldn't come up with much of an answer either. When you thought about it friendship wasn't the easiest thing to explain as it meant so many different things to different people, there was no one right answer really. "Friendship is whatever you decide it is..." she finally spoke thoughtfully, looking over at Viral and smiling at him, "You can be friends because you have the same hobby, or like the same things, or believe in the same things, it doesn't matter. Friends are going to have things in common and things that are different, but they can look past differences and get along anyways. I guess... If you need an answer then that's what I'd say." Maybe it wasn't the definitive answer either as Viral and Takeshi had a history of butting heads, but they were making headway here for a change and perhaps that could change.
