Brothien is a Very intelligent being. He does have a serious lack of communication and social skills, but can make up for it with his increased intelligence and strategic brilliance. He is a great sniper and is very disciplined. He knows an incredible amount of info on the Imperials and can aid in defeating them since he knows their strategies and formations. He also has a strong moral code.

Born on Dorin, Brothien was homeschooled by his father so he could train him whenever possible. His father had one goal for his son, and that was to make him a Stormtrooper. Him and his father trained and studied for years until Brothien had the intelligence of a man twice his age, and his physique as well. His father then payed the credits to send him to the Academy where he got plenty of training for his future role as a trooper. Shortly after arriving, the officers were amazed at his skills with blasters, his strength and endurance, as well as his quick thinking and strategic mind. They placed him I charge of 2nd platoon, only to see his one flaw: communication. He failed to get even the simplest order to his men and was soon removed from his commanding position. 

After graduating the academy and passing training for the Imperial Army, he was placed with the 935th Scout Trooper Legion on Endor. While with this team, he was put in 1st squad due to his abilities and knowledge, as well as for his great shot. They were often dispatched to take care of some problems from a distance. However, it was only after putting down the riot on Courscant tha Brothien began questioning his life, his career, his choices, whilst his squad mates laughed at the stories they told each other of the rioters running and screaming. That night he lay in bed, asking, praying for a sign to tell him what he should do. If he should stay with the imperials, the thing he'd trained for all his life, or leave to join the Rebels. That sign came to him in the form of the Death Star's destruction. After hearing it, he grabbed his E-11 Long-Range Blaster and stole a Tie-Interceptor, he left that day and enlisted to aid the rebels in what he called "The good fight".
