Don't mean to linger (my farts already do that :3) or get emotional, but, you did? I always thought I was lacking in comparison to others. I've googled constantly on how to get the most out of my writing, but nothing's helped me.
Yes you have a nice 'snap' to your writing, the way Rick Allen especially was written was always refreshing. You very clearly had a sense of character with him and a clear depiction in your mind. I mean you can google day in and day out about how to get the most of your writing but reading a flight manual doesn't ensure you can fly a plane. In my experience the only thing that gets you the most out of writing is more writing. Plus there's no point in comparing yourself to those around you, comparing yourself is more often than not going to lead to you putting your writing down and discouraging yourself. I always just look for things I like in writing and try to emulate them. I've often been told I have a natural knack for detail so I often use that to my advantage especially when it comes to GMing, but I really struggle with creating inner turmoil and conflict for my characters. Something that I've always greatly admired [@Stein] for. [@Hillan] on the other hand I've always admired for the flow his combat scenes have, they feel very much like you're right there blow for blow. I've been RPing with both of these guys for the greater part of five years though. [@Roman] has always pushed me to create better characters as I find he never chooses something 'trendy' or 'easy' per say. Roman always reinvents the wheel each and every time he makes a character. If it wasn't for Roman we'd have metahumans or mutants instead of Hyperhumans. There's numerous more RPers I could mention and brag about what they're great at but my point here is never to give up because you don't feel you're a good writer. If you have a drive to write and you're willing to learn, surround yourself with those whose writing you enjoy and eventually they'll rub off on you and who knows? Maybe they'll learn something from you too.
