Tbh, Stargate, Star Trek, or Battlestar never interested me much. Nor did Star Wars.

No, Firefly/Serenity, Orson Scott Card, and others did it for me. All that other stuff is too mainstream. I general feel an aversion to really popular things, like Harry Potter and the like.
