Day 16, Dawn Edgar_Walther Edgar_Walther walked into Bulls Run, it was going to be a nice day, and he was feeling pretty good about himself today. He'd managed to survive so far, somehow. Mostly he'd just taken it slow. The first day he hadn't even left the starting town. He'd eventually found some other players and they'd ventured out to fight the wild dogs. Some had panicked, but Edgar_Walther had decided if he was going to die, he might as well die now, and thought about his skill, trying to imagine it happening, and with a defiant scream had launched himself at the wild dog. He didn't really remember what came next, but he'd been staring at a loot screen when he finally came back to himself. Elated, he turned to the others, helping them out as best he could, encouraging them all to fight and win. That day they did exactly that. The next few weeks had seen them all disperse to find new things or groups to work with. Edgar had spent most of his time this past week practicing endlessly, hoping to one day be able to help end this crazy world-game. He hated it, he hated not being able to return to his family and friends. He wondered what they would be doing without him, would they miss him? He hoped they didn't miss him too much, but also hoped they weren't forgetting about him. I'd made it through all the early quests now, and was finally most of the way through level seven, but I was also a maxed out journeyman metal-smith. That's why I'd finally come to Bulls Run. I needed access to better materials to advance my metal-smith skill level. I set about wandering the town, visiting vendors, acquiring new recipes mostly, picking up a few new raw materials, and selling some of his better quality gear to a few PC vendors who needed them. I next spent some time repairing my gear. I hadn't anticipated the extra aggression of the dogs at night, but it hadn't been a problem for me. I'd long since learned how best to deal with them, and the night's walk had been little more than exciting. I'm not weary yet, though I am tired, I'd finish my work today and head to bed a little early tonight. My gear repaired, I went through my new recipes, learning each one and making sure I was careful to memorize every word. Then I tried the first recipe I had acquired materials for. I practiced until I got it right more often then I got it wrong, then did the same for the next recipe. Soon I was proficient with several basic Master level metal-smith recipes. Or, at least I'd thought it was soon, but my stomach said otherwise. I opened my main menu and checked the time, it was 15:17(3:17 pm)! I stood, wincing at the soreness in my legs, and made my way to an Inn where I could grab a bite to eat. I walked up to the NPC bartender, and ordered a simple lunch of lo mein with steak strips, a favorite of mine. I sat down at a small round table, with four empty chairs around it, and began eating my food relatively quietly with my chopsticks.
