“I am so sorry to bother you at this time of or to lay our family problems on your doorstep. Our sister, Naurine is in the hospital and is not likely to survive the night. This is her daughter, Fiona. She has a few life complications. She has lived with me since she was six months old. 
I can’t find our other sister, Cailleach, is wandering around somewhere and she is not likely to respond to my plea. And thusly not a good candidate for  adopting Fiona. Not that Mystique is a selkie but at least she can handle herself in an appropriate manner that would lead the judges to ok her adopting Fiona. 
She has a tough candidate, our Aunt Flora who is a selkie. She wants Fiona very badly and will use any trick to get her hands on her for some reason. I wouldn’t allow her to have a dead rat if I can prevent it. I have the money but being a bachelor, it will be hard for me to adopt her.”
