I'm still looking forward to Liza joining the group. Because yay more people. [@Lord Wraith] It has occurred to me that I am not altogether certain what that rough fifty number mentioned in your first post pertains to. Is it the number of people in the convoy or the number of vehicles? Also, how long has it taken them to get from Maine to Pointe Bordeaux? A quick google tells me that it could be done in two days(in the summer) if one really wanted to push one's self, but more comfortably in 4. And with varying ages of people and cars, and probably more than a few stops along the way to try picking up others.... I'll assume travel time is over 4 days, but by how much? Also, how many hypes did Tarvos start with? In Maine...
Huh, so I did make that rather vague didn't I? I honestly can't remember what I intended it to mean but I'm going to say it's fifty vehicles. Over all, the Hyperhumans in the convoy probably total between a hundred fifty to two hundred assuming each vehicle can hold three to four people. Which in the case of some of the vans and campers this is an underestimate but then you have to consider the convoy includes at least three motorcycles. Honestly I want to give the impression that at this point the convoy is sort of wandering aimlessly as in they have no true goal in mind. That said, the former Sanctuary they were seeking was Larissa. So we could say that the trip from Maine to North Carolina took four days, accounting for overnight stops, food and fuel runs, bathroom breaks for young ones, and generally due to taking back roads instead of main highways. Tarvos would have likely started with himself and seven others including Belle and Serena. The rest he's picked up travelling between states from Maine down to Louisiana.
[@Lord Wraith] AND EVERYONE ELSE, I'm just too lazy to ping you all. I had a thought, actually, I had it before when talking about the impression Lucas would get off of Gareth's bag, and then forgot it and just remembered it while trying to sleep. So, uhh I should have been asleep hours ago and if this makes no sense, I'll fix it when I'm properly awake. Anyway! I was thinking that one way Lucas might make himself useful to the convoy is to vet people wanting to join. Sort of give them a slightly less intrusive but not really pat down of their belongings in an effort to make sure they aren't bringing along any unwanted baggage that could cause trouble later on. Of course, there's no guarantee that he'd catch everything, but it's better than nothing when trusting strangers without a few caveats is a bad idea. I don't know how long he's been a part of this particular convoy yet, but I imagine he would have done it for the convoy he was a part of that probably joined up with Tarvos' at some point, so it could be a relatively easy 'tradition' to introduce. Could be a public thing, just anyone wanting to join hands over their stuff with anyone else around able to watch and listen in, or might be a private affair with just them, Lucas, Tarvos and any other unofficial convoy leader, maybe. Dunno. Just figured I'd write down my thoughts before I forget them again or we get past the point of it being useful. This would require some coordination on our parts, since I'd have to make sure I'm having Lucas say the right things. But I can leave out, or vague up anything that you want to be a surprise plot point down the road, provided I can think up some good cover for it, anyway. >.> Hopefully you'd help with that if my brain dies. It's relatively easy to slip things past Lucas though, if there's enough distraction. He'd be trying his best, but he's fallible. Thoughts? Good? Bad? Forget I ever thought it?
This sounds good to me.
