Upon hearing Quill say to screw the Nova and their fancy parties she couldn’t help but laugh. While she loved the thought of leaving it all behind and never having to deal with it again, she knew she couldn’t get away with that. She was a princess after all and she had to look and act the part. But if she only had to do it once and a while so the rest of the time she could live free and do what she pleased then so be it. Well as far as one can do within the confidence of a marriage right? Then again Quill didn’t really, well he cared a little but at least he understood where she was coming from. When he moved one of her hands from his shoulder, she watched him in awe as he observed her hands. It felt as long he was looking at something precious. The longer he stared at them the more her heart pounded in her chest to the point she feared he could feel it in her hand. What was this feeling!? This was something new, something she had never experienced before. Her heart was pounding, her breathing was heavy and her head felt light as she watched his face look at her hand. The longer he observed the more nervous she felt. Upon his lips hitting her fingers her breathe cut in a small gasp. His lips were as soft as she remembered, even more so after all they had just been through. Wow… what was this feeling… Her mind snapped back to reality when he finished talking and she caught that he called her a rookie. “Rookie… me?” She said in a questioning tone as her other hand moved to his neck, gently rubbing it with her fingertips. “I’m far from a rookie. I’m a warrior princess who’s been on the run since I was real young, hunting bounties and surviving. I’m far from a rookie.” ---- The trip was a smooth one and Nikki found herself resting most of the time in her room, half asleep for most of the journey but when she wasn’t; she was walking around and talking with Quill. She had never found herself wanting to be as close to someone as much as she was being around Quill. She would spend time in the kitchen while it was his turn to cook talking and laughing and dare she say---flirting a bit... She’d even go to the cockpit to look at the stars more only to find him appear with her or him at the controls. Again she would massage his shoulders and they would continue to talk. She shared stories of her people, traditions of her planet and exciting adventures of her own while she listen to his. This is what people consider ‘bonding’, maybe they were bonding. All she knew was that she was having a good time. Landing on a nearby planet to refuel and restock the kitchen. Nikki and Gamora left the ship first before wondering into the market. “So… you and Quill?” Gamora began… “It’s nothing… we’re just getting to know each other that’s all.” “But why him? Why him for the whole marriage thing?” “Who else would allow me to have the freedom to roam the galaxy?” “I get that…” Gamora said with a sigh before giving Nikki a small nudge with her elbow. It’s hard to believe they went from hating each other to getting along very well. “But maybe it’s more than that?” Nikki picked up a funny looking brown piece of something and sniffed it before making a gagging noise and putting it down. “I don’t have to say anything; now excuse me while I hunt for dinner supplies.” With that and a bright red face, the blue haired beauty began to roam the market looking for something to make for her turn for dinner.
