It's not because it was on the front page, it was because you gave no indication on what we're supposed to find on that page. The issue isn't where the answer was, the issue was that you gave a very brief statement with too many solutions. 

You can't have a scavenger hunt if there are no clues on what we're to find to begin with... 

To give an example of what just happened... You tell us to go on a scavenger hunt and that you hid shit in the forest, then tell us, "Go find it" yet never said what it is that we're to find or even hinted on what we're looking for... just that it is on the front page.
