I agree with you heartily in that front.  For a show that lost its two best animators, the fight was spot-on.  I particularly liked
[hider]the moment when Penny rocketed forward propelled by her thruster swords to attack.  There was an awesome sound effect too[/hider]
If you ask me, the 
[hider]really dark and tragic[/hider]
portions of this season were a good way to go.  It's good writing, it's intense, and it's gripping.  No anime or cartoon has ever held my heart so powerfully as did Episode 9 of RWBY.  Others may have had their moments, but this was when I was immersed.
