He had some black patches on his skin which looked much like the ones on his wrists. The result of his skin dying due to prolonged or extreme cold, along with multiple scratches from the ice. He saw the water and immediately panicked, back-pedalling as far away from it as possible before clumsily getting up and running off to find some source of heat, not even bothering to say anything the whole time.
