Jake reached up and touched the girl, and she disappeared. "the girl is now in an interdimensional space known as the Vault. Don't worry, she is quite safe. However, were I to die, the space would collapse, with her in it. Whereas I have never tested it, I believe a collapsing pocket dimension would be fatal." Jake looked at the tiny elf sternly, his fists balling into fists. "You are threatening me with violence in order to break the law. If you truly wished to adopt the child, you could perfectly legally have signed the papers, and become her foster parent. However, instead, you will fight me to prevent her from being led to the safety of the government. Forgive me if I do not believe your word after you have so blatantly lied about yourself before."
