Trius
[sub]Male Dunmer | 78 | Steed[/sub]

Basic Information:

Appearance: Trius is a well built Dark Elf standing roughly 6'-2" in height. He has jet black hair and a quiff hairstyle that's always sided to the right. He has a light grey skin tone and a deep set of Maroon colored eyes, much like the rest of the Dunmer in all of Nirn. He has a thin pointed nose, jutting chin, and prominent cheek bones. An iconic feature of Trius is his goatee which he trims religiously, every. single. day. He is handsome in Dunmeri standards, but his empty facial expression always kills off his attractive vibe. Place of Origin: Blacklight, Morrowind Background: Trius is the first child of a Dunmer couple hailing from a Minor House in Blacklight. Both his parents served for the High Temple, leaving them no time to bond or care for Trius. He received little love; if not none, from his parents, having no other sibling at that time didn't help either. If not for a fellow Dunmer child; Tobrin Urshklamar, who became friends with him at the age of 7, he would have had a completely lonely childhood. The two spent the rest of their childhood together, creating a brotherly bond that would seem unbreakable as the years went by. Coming from a family with a legacy closely related to the High Temple's military branch, Trius was expected to follow his ancestor's footsteps, or at least, honor them by taking military associated profession. When he reached a certain age his father deemed appropriate for him to start his training, Kemset Arovan; a Redoran Councilman, took Trius as his apprentice and taught him the various ways and techniques of wielding a sword. Nine years since he started his training, Trius was finally presented with an opportunity of applying the skills he learned into a real life threatening scenario. The Argonian fleet arrived at Solsthiem, looting and pillaging every Dunmer settlement they see. Kemset took with him Trius and Tobrin, and joined the Redoran counterattack force that numbered at least two thousand strong. When the force arrived at Solsthiem it was already too late, Raven Rock was ransacked and the Argonians were already celebrating in the middle of the settlement. Trius and Tobrin along with some other Redoran recruits, separated from the main attack force and flanked the Argonian ranks, confronting the rear guards head on. The battle only lasted for a few hours until finally, the Redoran General declared victory. The skills and techniques taught to Trius proved useful, and his mentor could've been more proud of him. After 20 years of training under Kemset's tutelage, Trius finally reached the peak of his training and graduated from his apprenticeship. But, before parting ways with Kemset, his mentor passed on his ornate Ebony blade to Trius, as a form of recognition to the best student the Redoran councilman had. It was not long after his graduation that Trius went on a journey around Tamriel, hoping to learn more of the world first hand. He did not do this alone however, as Tobrin - along with a small band of traders, accompanied Trius throughout the entire journey. In the span of 15 years, Trius and and his company traveled to Skyrim, Hammerfell, High Rock, Valenwood, Cyrodiil and finally, back to Morrowind. Not only did he learn parts of the culture of the provinces he visited, this journey also expanded his knowledge in several aspects, making him quite knowledgeable in certain matters compared to most Dunmer in Morrowind. In their journey, Trius met several people, people that made his adventure very memorable. One of such is an Altmer mage that introduced Trius to the world of Conjuration. At first Trius was hesitant on learning the arcane art, thinking that it's best for a swordsman to focus on the way of the sword, and less about magic. But, after the Altmer insisted and showed him the Daedra he can summon at will, Trius couldn't let the opportunity pass. This would eventually drive Trius to seek further knowledge, that he'd continue to train in the art further, even after separating ways with the Altmer. Upon returning to his home in Blacklight, he was met with the news of war between Men and Elves. Believing it to be the right time gain some military experience, he signed up with a mercenary company and took jobs from the Empire. At first it was a lucrative contract, since being on the safer end of the war, there was little danger, other than the occasional skirmishes with Thalmor scouting parties. But when the Empire began losing ground faster than can respond, it was the indicator for Trius to cut his contract short. As luck may have it, just before Trius' company crossed the border of Cyrodill and Morrowind, a large Thalmor task force caught up with them and confronted the small crew. To make things worse, the Altmer leading the force was Trius' Conjuration mentor; who was actually an undercover agent in Cyrodiil by the time Trius met with him. It was a battle between Mer, Dunmers who just wanted to go home, versus the Altmers who were seeking vengeance. A long battle ensued after initial contact, iron blades clashing against elven armor, distant cousins bleeding each other to the death. It was a gruesome battle, but in the end, only five Mer remained standing, Trius, his Altmer mentor, and three Thalmor scouts. The result of the battle was unknown to Trius, as when he woke up after collapsing mid-fight, he was already laying in bed in Blacklight. The only reminder of the battle for Trius was the large scar he had that was running across his back. Soon after recovering, he took jobs from the Great Houses of Morrowind, jobs that mostly involved him dealing with their problems with the edge of his sword. This occupation of his continued on for years, doing jobs for one Great House after the other. His loyalty landed where there was gold the most, and most of the time, it was with the Redorans. Only a few months after the Dragonborn visited Solsthiem, news of the arrival of another legend reached his ears. He never believed in legends, but when the people of Blacklight started exchanging rumors of the return of the Nerevarine, he couldn't believe it himself. The famed hero entered the city gates clad in armor styled not from the designs of his kin, but from a different culture not native to Tamriel. His presence reeked of overwhelming power that the mere sight of the Nerevarine made spectators tremble where they stood. Soon after settling affairs in Blacklight, a province wide reformation was enacted, and the Nerevarine was crowned King. Signing up as a foot soldier in Morrowind's new standing army, Trius finally felt that his actions could bear a mark in the history of his people. He participated in all of the campaigns the Nerevarine led, and not for a second did he wavered in belief that the Dunmer will rise again. Unfortunately, in one of the many battles he was in, Trius was almost killed by an Argonian werebeast. This horrific encounter made him decide that he needed time away from conflict, and more time with himself enjoying the simple luxuries of life. In the 25th of Midyear, Trius resigned from the army, believing that he had his fill of military experience. He ventures into Windhelm, to restock his supplies as he organizes his new travel itinerary.

"Every story told has another version of it.. and sometimes, that one bears more truth than what was already said." Trius' real name is Helkan R'is, first son of Azafar and Leanna R'is, who are both members of the order of Ordinators. The name Trius came from his Altmer mentor's name, Trius Callavor; a Thalmor undercover agent assigned in Cyrodiil. Helkan's mercenary company was actually Redoran commissioned attack force that ambushed Thalmor convoys passing into Morrowind soil. Maybe as some sort of wake up call to what Helkan was doing, his party accidentally ambushed a Thalmor diplomatic convoy that Trius was a part of. It was already too late when Helkan realized what he had done. Trius was dead, and Thalmor authorities would hunt them down should they find out about the incident. In an effort to escape the aftermath of his actions, Helkan took his vows as an Ordinator, and joined the Order of Inquisition. In his time as an Ordinator, Helkan's reputation flourished. Being one of the successful interrogators of the order, he had a promising future following his ancestor's steps. It's in his time with the Ordinators that the nickname "Blackhand" was given to him. When the Nerevarine took control of Morrowind, he was transferred to a special task force working directly for the intelligence branch of the High Ordinators. Initially his job as an Ordinator Specialist was to extract information about the pockets of Argonian settlements that dotted Morrowind's land, it was a job which he found no difficulty with but he was happy nonetheless. Through some circumstances, his detachment was suddenly tasked on raiding the settlements themselves, and capturing all Argonians they could find. In the early days of 4E 205, His detachment was once again tasked on gathering information, but this time, it was to round up Imperial sympathizers in the ranks of the Ashland Armigers. Many of his comrades were hesitant on doing it at first, but not Helkan. He did his duty regardless of the race he was squeezing the information from. Not for long, a massive purge in the army was ordered, cutting a one third of the entire army's number. This event planted the seed of which will eventually lead to Helkan leaving the order. By the 18th of Midyear 4E 205, he was part of a task force which assaulted the base of operations of the "cultists" in Cheydinhal. The first wave of the attack was a success, but the commanding officer was mortally wounded, leaving a gap in command during the attack. Almost at the verge of defeat he summons a Dremora into the fray, catching their opponents off guard. He used this opening to lead the rest of the men in finishing off the remaining cultist force. Though looked down upon by the Ordinator survivors for summoning a Daedra, it was still a success. They rescued the survivors and returned them to Imperial authorities. In the 21st of Midyear, his detachment arrived in New Vivec, the new capital of Morrowind. His task force paraded on the polished streets while civilians praised them as they passed by. Upon reaching the Fane of the High Temple, Helkan was awarded with an ornate badge of honor for turning his mission into a success and for his loyal service to the order. Soon after the ceremony, he was summoned by the King of Morrowind himself, to convey his personal thanks to the brave Dunmer. Just as Helkan strode through the corridors of the King's palace with haste, he accidentally bumps into a hooded Mer wearing black robes. This little accident caused the two to drop on the floor, leading the hooded Mer to scatter the scrolls and pieces of paper he was carrying. Helkan struggled to help the Mer but the Mer aggressively declined and pushed Helkan away. Just as the Mer rushed off away from him, Helkan noticed a scroll slip from the Mer's robe. He picked it up and rushed to return it, but by the time he lifted his head up, the Mer was gone. Curious to what it contained he opened it. Helkan's eyes widened upon reading the contents of the scroll, his hand began to shiver as it held the fragile piece of paper. Believing his life would be at risk should someone see him holding it, he sets it ablaze with a spell, hoping to leave no trace of it. Just as the last pieces of the scroll turned to ashes, the King's Honor Guard spots him at the end of the hall and urges him to make haste. Entering the throne room, he felt cold sweats drip from his forehead down to his chin. The Nerevarine looked at him with a wry smile, while the rest of the King's Council looked at him with piercing gazes. He kneels before the King but his face still contained a fragment of horror. The Nerevarine sensing conflict in Helkan, asked the humbled Ordinator to stand and hands him a scroll bearing the royal seal. While handing the scroll, the King uttered whispered words which still echoes in Helkan's mind to this day.
...Nations are built under piles of corpses ..Loyal citizens are its foundations ...It's up to you to decide where you belong.
After that he was dismissed. But ever since he left the palace, he can't get rid of the feeling of being watched wherever he goes. In the 25th of Midyear Helkan arrived in Raven Rock along with other Ordinators tasked by the High Priest in New Vivec. Rumors of a new sickness that infected the Dunmer population in Solsthiem alarmed the High Temple and the King. In response to this the Ordinators were assigned to round up the infected and evacuate those who were still unaffected. When the last infected were rounded up, a messenger arrived bearing new instructions to their task. Helkan received the letter from the messenger and read the letter aloud in behalf of the commanding officer. "By the orders of the High Priests and the King himself. All those affected by the Cyrodiilic Disconnect are to be executed to contain it from spreading." Without second thoughts the Ordinators beside Helkan began to slaughter the unarmed infected. Half of them were lit ablaze while the rest of the infected were hacked or mauled to death. Helkan himself didn't participate with the act, but when an infected child tried to escape the occurring slaughter, he was forced to burn the child to a crisp before she could flee. To add further burden to the Mer, his superior tasked him to accompany the citizens to Blacklight, where a quarantine section of the city was dedicated for the unaffected for further examinations. Being pushed to the limit by his last assignment, Helkan returned to the R'is Manor with a heavy heart. On that same evening he arrived, just as the night fell into silence, a shrouded figure slipped into the R'is Manor, and entered Helkan's chambers. A sharp steel blade hovered above Helkan's face, but the steel neither dropped nor plunged towards the victim in the bed. Rather, the shrouded figure suddenly screamed as his body began bursting into flames. Helkan wasn't known to be a complacent Mer, especially when many are keen on having his head on a plate. The fire rune consumed the assassin in an unending fiery blaze that it almost lit Helkan's entire room. After a few minutes of struggling, the assassin dropped on Helkan's bed, smoking and lifeless. Feeling that attacks like this would soon become bolder since he survived, Helkan takes this as an opportunity to fake his own death. Helkan gathered whatever he could from the manor and created a large fire that would appear as if it originated from his room. With nowhere else to go, he leaves the city and meets with Tobrin and Kemset in secret. After confiding with them about the incident, the two help Helkan by providing him with supplies and gear for a new life outside of Morrowind. The three shared one last glass of Flin before finally, one had to leave bearing a new name. After receiving recognition for the operation in Cheydinhal, Helkan's reputation soared and made him a promising candidate for a higher position. His sudden loss was considered a huge misfortune by the order. The Great House Redoran - After spending several years training under the tutelage of Kemset Arovan, Helkan became a welcome friend in the Redoran ranks. Though not a member of the House, Helkan gained the trust and friendship of several of its members, and was treated almost as an equal to a true Redoran member. House R'is - As a retainer House of House Redoran, House R'is never grew in great numbers. With such a small number of members, keeping a close-knit relation with each other was a mandatory tradition. Unlike other Houses in Morrowind, the R'is family puts the affairs of their members first, before anything else. Despite his apparent "death" in the R'is family manor, his close relatives still believe Helkan is alive and just in hiding. Morag Tong - After a recent incident which should have covered up for Helkan, who knows if the guild is still after his head.
Age: 78 (30-ish in Human Standards) Race: Dunmer or Dark Elf Personality: At first impressions, one would define Trius as a mysterious Mer who clearly shows less than what he really is. His sole drive seems to be is to enjoy life as it is, carefree, and nothing more. It is common for one to find Trius secluding himself from the crowd, preferring to observe people from afar. However, underlying the isolationist attitude of Trius lies a friendly, accommodating, charismatic Dunmer with a sincere side. He is honorable, dedicated, and supportive to a cause he believes in. He is strong willed, and would likely never submit to another's whim. He has a different philosophical belief compared to common Mer, but this doesn't make him arrogant, or stubborn. Rarely would one find Trius indulging himself with the pleasures of alcohol, but if one does, surely the Mer is under deep stress or celebrating an important occasion.

Capabilities:

Combat Style: Trius spent two decades of his lifetime training his skills in swordsmanship under the tutelage of a Redoran mentor named Kemset. This experience gave him a vast collection of techniques in combat which he applied extensively during his time as a Mercenary. Incorporating the art of Conjuration in his fighting style, Trius can pull a couple tricks up his sleeve when needed. He has an aggressive approach when it comes to confronting enemies, often using Daedric summons to harass or flank the target while he relentlessly strikes his opponent with dual-wielded blades. He is capable of adapting to a different arsenal and fighting style when needed, even in the heat of battle. Despite wearing heavy armor, his body had grown accustomed to its heavy weight and limited flexibility. Instead of being burdened by the weight, he uses the extra pounds as support to the force he exerts in his movements and attacks. If on the defensive, Trius can rely on his armor to take the bulk of the damage from swords and arrows while also causing as much damage as he can. But when spells come into play, it's a completely different story. With only an apprentice level ward mastered, his armor won't last long against mages above the adept rank. Hedonistic Tendency - Choosing between bedding three sultry wenches at the same time or saving an entire town filled with people is a huge dilemma for Trius. Silt-Strider-aphobia - Trius can call himself less of a Dunmer than any Nord, Argonian, or other races that settled in Morrowind and have made appreciation to the tall insects in the ashen land. Ever since he was a child, a re-occurring dream of a Silt Strider prancing around the ashland like a crazed pony made him afraid of the national pride of the Dunmer. The worst part of it, this fear extends to certain species of spiders that have long legs. Allergic to seafood - Trius has avoided eating seafood ever since he acquired rashes after eating a healthy serving of steamed mudcrab and grilled slaughterfish when he was a boy. Sympathy towards children - For reasons he cannot say, Trius developed a soft spot when harming children. As a tradition practiced by Kemset, and other swordsmen before him, passing on the blade signified the trust and honor a mentor gives to an apprentice that achieved their full potential. As much as an Ebony sword would be useful to wield against enemies all the time, Trius restrains himself from using the blade. Even though the blade remains unused, Trius still dedicates time on maintaining it from time to time.
