So, can someone explain this battle system to me? I caught up on the IC--and you guys are so good that now I'm sure my writing will be stand out like a sore thumb--and I just read Rockette's new post. There is a thread on it, where she explained it.. I'll find it.  But this is our first battle, so yeah..  I'd explain it if I could, but -untested-.   I imagine there will be edits... seems unavoidable.
