The cool night breeze had managed to soothe the raging fires of his mind somewhat. He had returned to the flat to sort out Nat's surprise. He knew her too well, she wouldn't be home for a while, she wouldn't have followed him out. The needs of the many outweighed the needs of the few and Nattie knew that she had to carry on the party for the others, Dom would be fine. It was just like going on a mountain, if in doubt, leave him to some quiet and he'll be fine. He washed the stained blood from his hands and changed his red covered clothes. After changing, Dominic set off on another journey. Having only had one beer, Dom felt good enough to drive and so he made the short five minute ride to the Hubert Jones Sportatorium. It was a run down, derelict piece of crap that had been closed for over ten years, Dom loved it. He had spent months of his time and much of his money on restoring it, not for re-use but for so for himself. The HJ Sportatorium was Big Mountains' escape in San Fran when didn't have the chance to go on one of his expeditions. Making his way through old heavy door, the lights were on and some music was already playing. He walked down the short flight of stairs to the freshly cleaned rink and looked out across the ice, Tas was on the other side. "Got your text" She had heard him enter, looking up slowly from the spot on the floor she had been staring at since she first sat down. She looked tired and sad; sad was not an emotion that she ever let show. People saw her angry, bitchy, and ever so often happy but sadness; only one person in the group had ever had the privilege and there he was. Standing up she rubbed her hands down the length of her scrubs, nodding slightly towards him. He would know the look she had on her face and what it meant. It only ever meant the same things these days. Sighing she started to walk over to him slowly, gradually approaching him until she stood before him and he was towering over her. She didn't say a word, she just buried her head against his chest, shaking gently. It didn't take a genius to work out was going on with Tas; it was one of two things and neither ended well. Dom could've ignored the text, he couldn't avoided the fight with Eddy and Claire but he didn't. He never would either. It just wasn't in his nature. It's just who Dominic was, no matter how much he tried to fight it. Pulling the weeping Natasha into his chest, he held her as close as he could, placing a light kiss on her forehead, he stroked the back of her hair as his mind processed the information he knew was true in his heart of hearts despite how flawed it was physically. "We'll get through this, Tas. I've got you. I'm not going anywhere, I promise." "I know.." she whispered softly as she slipped her arms around him. The first time he had held her she thought it would feel odd but it hadn't, it didn't now after all these months. She found the strangest comfort when they were together like this. As much as it helped, she still felt so overwhelmed by everything, so tired. Looking up at him slowly, tears in her eyes that she was trying to hold back; she let out a frustrated sorrowful sigh. "I can't keep this up, I'm tired of fighting it," she admitted meekly before breaking her gaze from him and resting her head back against his strong frame; he was a mountain and she felt if it weren't for him she might topple over. "Never stop fighting, we can't stop. Think of Nat and Sam. We can't stop, I won't let you stop" The strangeness of holding and being there for Natasha Brinne had dawned on him a thousand times over but every time it happened, it got more and more comfortable. "Besides, I bought the four of us City and Colour tickets and like hell are we missing that" Many would call that one of Dominic's terrible attempts at jokes but this time he was being serious, the four of them had tickets, it was part of Nat's birthday surprise. Tas chuckled slightly and shook her head a bit. "And what happens if we can't keep fighting... if they find out? It would crush Nat... Sam, well.." she began but cut herself off and sighed. After fleeting smile, Dom's faced turned somber once more. "Don't make me fly alone." Slowly Tas looked up at Dom and cupped his cheek gently. "I promise you, no matter what happens, I will always fly with you. Always," she said in a soft voice. "Then fly with me now." Dom reached into jacket pocket and pulled out his phone, scrolling through his iTunes, he quickly played a song he knew that Tas loved. Placing it back into his pocket, he took one of her hand with his and placed the other on her waist. Tas laced her fingers with his, resting her other hand on his shoulder as he lead her, dancing slowly as an adoring look came over her features. It didn't matter that she wore scrubs and neither were wearing skates. He simply smiled and started slowly moving her across the ice as the world faded away, a white moment.
