Mithera’s Departure -- White Knights and Black Stars Arc

Mithera, Jack Goran and Some Others
Jack arrived at the hotel with Emory in tow and gave him his guild mark before sending him on his way. Approaching the young girl at one of the tables, he sits down. "I'm told you're a member of Phoenix Wing. Newer perhaps, because I don't think I've seen you in my visits to their guild hall." Mithera looked up from her thoughts as the Dragon Fang Guild Master came over to her and spoke. She had been lost in a train of thought relating to what she 1was going to say, and she was glad she wouldn't have more time to mull it over and get nervous. "Heh, I'd been with Phoenix Wing for months before the whole Magic Council incident, but I wasn't an official member till a couple months ago. I was the dragon." She giggled slightly, and smiled. "Glad to know people don't figure it out at first glance! Anyway, I guess I should introduce myself, uhm, I'm Mithera of Phoenix Wing!" She smiled more, shifting a tad nervously however. She couldn't bring herself to immediately ask what she had come here to ask yet, afraid of how he might answer. Jack had to think a moment on what dragon she meant before it clicked, the little white one that had been acting as something of a mascot or something. "Ah, yes! Jamie had mentioned something about your magic, but I couldn't remember the specifics. A shifter mage is not uncommon. Glad to make your acquaintance. What is it you need?" Mithera would nod, and take a deep breath. She guessed that Jack just wasn't that much of a small talk guy. She would move her hands from the table to her lap before speaking. "Yeah, mines, uhm, kinda weird, anyway. I was hoping I could maybe borrow a few of your members to uh, kinda serve as bodyguards and travel companions, I guess... Uh, anyway, I kinda need them because, uhm, I need to warn a friend of mine that Iron Enigma's after them, but they can't know I'm going. Which is, well, uh, that's basically why I'm not still the dragon. And why I don't want to bring Phoenix Wing members." Her cheeks would redden slightly in embarrassment, and she'd smile weakly at the guild master. Jack tapped his chin thoughtfully, his confrontation with Jamie still fresh. Still, he didn't pregrudge her like she seemed to think he did, and he hoped to clarify that at the dinner tonight. "I'm not sure who I can spare, but I'll put some thought into it. I can't send any of my S-Class with you though, because one is on the team and the other is reserve, but I can send a couple." Mithera nodded as she adjusted her dress, unable to figure out how to get it to fit on her just right, though it was mostly the lacrima in her bra that was giving her trouble. "Thanks. I r-really apreciate it... Damn thing." She'd re-adjust it a bit more, before giving Jack an exasperated look. She'd then blush a little, figuring he probably doesn't know a whole bunch about dresses, and would take a quick breath before speaking again. "U-uhm, as a kind of, not entirely important side-note, I will be paying as much as I can. I, uh, hate owing people favors, but It probably will below... Proper paygrade for how long it's going to take, since the person I need to reach isn't in Fiore... Oh, and we might run into Iron Enigma's top members, b-but leaving before they do might let us avoid that, unless they skip the last day of the games..." She'd stare off into the distance for a moment before snapping back to the conversation at hand, trying to think of everything she should tell Jack. Everything that might go wrong, what might go right. She didn't dare say exactly where they were going however. She had no idea how deep Iron Enigma's network went, or anyone's, really. She took a deep breath. "Grant's definitely a danger... His precognition can turn even the most lopsided battle in his favor." She'd say softly, mostly to herself. Jack began to catch on to her concerns and tapped his chin thoughtfully. He couldn't send Jake or Ammy, since Jake would be taking Jackie's spot in the Games, but Zen and Joslyn were definitely free, and they were a difficult combination to beat, even for an S Class. "I begin to see what you need, so first order of business. We don't need payment. Phoenix Wing is still our ally, even if Jamie might have a hard time believing that, and she is still my friend. Second, I will send Joslyn and Zen with you. They're only A-Class, but the two together make a team even an S-Class mage has trouble besting." Mithera would nod. "Alright, well. Let's hope we don't have to deal with Iron Enigma anyway, a-and I'd feel kinda b-bad if I didn't at least give your members at l-least a bit of money for, you know, dragging them across the continent and back. So let me at least p-pay them some amount." She'd say, shivering slightly, and rubbing her arms. "A-and there is the wh-whole... I have no kind of proper papers to cross borders with. A-at least not as a human, and m-my dragon form is a tad conspicuous. Especially the, uhm, big one." She was secretly hoping to get him to give up another number to help her out, though she was sure that if he did it'd definitely be a big enough group for Iron Enigma to pick up something was off, though she was sure that they would avoid dealing with them anywhere near Crocus. Once they were out away from civilization however, she knew they wouldn't hesitate to try to kill, save Luna. "Zen knows ways around the border security, so don't worry about that. And as for payment, well, I will leave it up to them to decide if they want it. Do not feel ashamed to accept help without offering reward." Mithera would nod. "Alright. B-but I don't really th-think of it as a reward, more of c-compensation for g-going so far out of their way, you know?" She'd look down at her hands, looking pale as ever. With a breath she'd look up at Jack, a light smile on her face. "Thanks for helping me out. It means a lot to me." She would then half stand up, planning on giving the guild master a hug for being so nice. What happened instead was that she would almost immediately fall over, yelping as her hands slapped against the cold hard floor. She'd look up at Jack with a blush. "U-uhm... O-oops?" She'd nervously offer before climbing back up into her chair, biting her lip. Jack walked over and fixed the table and then gave Mithera a hug, having picked up on her intentions. "I'm glad to help, Mithera. I'll get Zen and Joslyn ready to leave. Oh, and I suggest getting better at the two legs thing." He smiles softly at his own joke. Mithera would hug jack tightly back, not letting go for a long moment, and would nod. "Yeah alright. Thanks again." She'd grin a bit. "And yeah, I know about how I gotta get better about the whole two legs. I, well, I haven't had only two legs for a loooong time. It's even worse that you guys don't even have tails. I mean, c'mon, what's with that?" She'd giggle, smiling more. "Anyway, I guess, if we do run into Iron Enigma's strong guys, I've got a panic button in the form of a communication lacrima, so if things go really bad, at least everyone will probably make it out OK." "I doubt my members would abandon you." Mithera would shake her head. "No, I meant if... If we get in a situation someone might die, I can get emergency backup." Her voice would go quiet, and she'd rest her arms on the table. "I never thought about them just abandoning me." Jack nodded, regretting his choice of words. "That was wrong of me to think. That said, I don't think Zen or Joslyn would want you to do that if they could buy you time to get away." MIthera would just shake her head slightly, dropping to look down at her feet. "I... I would hate for any of your members to get hurt. I would feel terrible if that happened, even if it was their choice." The woman would gently fold her arms against her stomach, leaning back in her chair some, but not too much lest she fall again. "I hate it when people get hurt on my behalf... God I wish my magic was a lot more useful than it is." She'd sigh again, looking worried now. Jack chuckles and rests a hand on her shoulder. "Your magic does exactly what you need it to do, and nothing more or less. If you want to tell me where you want everyone to meet, I'll get everyone heading there." Mithera would nod, and smile a bit towards him. "I guess I due owe the fact I'm alive entirely to my magic, most of the time it doesn't really do anything for me in a pinch. Well, unless I sustain some internal injury or something... But, uhm, I think everyone should meet up at the east entrance to the city, since that's the direction we want to go... We'll probably head to the train station from there." Jack nods, already pulling together the stuff he needs to inform the pair of before they leave. "I will have them meet you there within the hour. In the mean time, if you need anything else," he hands her a phone and shows her his number, "call me if you require anything else from my guild. If I can spare it, I'll get it to you." "Oh, I've already got a communication... thing." Mithera would pull the communication lacrima from its hiding place under her bra. "So, uh, I think I should be able to communicate with you. Uhm, if I knew entirely how this thing worked, I mean. But I know how to talk to Jarvis." "Then this will allow you to reach me quickly." "Err, okay, I guess..." Mithera would nod some, and take the new communication device, placing it opposite of the lacrima Jarvis had given her. "Thanks again, for helping me. Now... I've got to see if i can get to the east entrance before your guys do." She'd smile, before beginning to stand up, holding onto the table for support. "It's sweet that everyone's so nice and trying to help me. I know everyone's not like that, but everyone other than Iron Enigma so far has been, and I really like it." "The world is always full of kindness, though we have no way of knowing that with all the evil that buries it. Remember, for as long as Jamie and I live, our two guilds will always look out for each other, no matter how many rough patches we have." "Yeah... I'm sure it means a lot to Jamie, to know that they're not the only person looking after Phoenix Wing." She'd give him a big smile, and start walking towards the exit to the hotel, moving slowly, and trying to keep her balance. "Say hi to everyone for me, though it isn't, really, entirely necessary I guess." Jack nods, watching her in case he needs to catch her. "I will do so anyways. It's good to know that your friends are still OK when possible." Mithera would nod again, and give him one last big smile. "Alright... Thanks, for like the millionth time, I guess. We'll probably be back in a few weeks to a month or two... I guess... Uh, yeah." Mithera would just kind-of shrug, trying to walk normally, though she'd be bent forward a little, trying to keep her balance while she walked. She'd stumble quite a few times before getting to the door, and she'd be rather slow about it. Once she gets there, she'd look back over at Jack. "Or you could send them here and they could help me over to the East exit where, uhm, I think there's one more guy that's going with. We'll meet him there, then probably grab a train to the border. Or something..." Jack nods and pulls out a lacrima and speaks into it. After a couple minutes, the pair, Zen and Joslyn, walk down stairs and Joslyn offers to help Mithera stand. "Don't worry Miss Mithera, we'll make sure you don't get hurt!" Joslyn was obviously a very happy person. Mithera's cheeks would turn a soft pink as the two came down, and she would gently take Joslyn's hand. "No need to be quite so formal. J-just Mithera is fine, guys. A-and I'm probably the person you need to least worry about getting hurt, since, uhm, my magic allows me to kinda fix injuries that'd normally be deadly in an hour or so." She'd start moving towards the door, opening it to leave. Zen snorted as Joslyn giggled. "Trust me, even healing magic can be out paced. But we won't let that need come into play." Mithera would rub the back of her head as they went outside. "I know, I-i'm just saying if someone has to g-get stabbed, I'm the p-preferred victim. As long as I'm awake that is. Uhm, anyway, what're you two's names again?" She'd look out along the street as she held the door and Jsolyn's hand to keep herself balanced, letting them come out with her. Zen sighed and turned to look at her. "Names Zen, Wind Make mage." For emphasis, he makes a ship that sails around the trio. Joslyn giggles at Zen and spins around, a pair of water make macaws appearing as she moves. "And I'm Joslyn, a Water Make Mage." Mithera looked at the two as they talked, smiling softly. "Cool." She'd say to their magics, and quietly repeat their names to herself. "I'm Mithera, uhm, A form of transformation mage. I don't really know what to call it specifically. And, uhm, I can't give a direct demonstration, sadly." She'd smile a bit more at them, but would keep them moving on. After a while they’d come to the edge of town, and instead of approaching Valak directly, Mithera would make her presence known to the other mage by holding her pale hand high in the air for a long moment and making eye contact when he was looking her way. Once she was sure he had seen her, she dropped her hand, and started off towards the train station.
Mayt shrugged, glancing over at Wes as he left, and he waved goodbye before standing up. ”See you around Wes. Don’t get yourself hurt hunting for Shutler.” Once the other mage was gone, he sighed, and glanced around the train platform. He noticed a small group getting onto the station and heading towards the train. Though, to be honest, he mostly only noticed the tall woman that was easily the closest thing to albino that wasn’t actually albino he had ever seen, with her white hair and her practically marshmello-colored skin. She looked at him just before she got on the train, and after obvious flash of recognition, she had disappeared into the vehicle. Mayt shrugged, not recognizing her, and moved to get on the train as well. ”Deserve S-Class, right. Running away is so honorable.” He climbed onto the next car down from Mithera and the others, and soon enough the train began to move, going east.
