The young chieftaness of the city of Intik, Gelvira, stood solemnly before the council of elders. While she had accended with her father's death, it was now that she would be named the true ruler. The council chattered among themselves, the usual talk of the elders. Gelvira was nervous, ascension to the throne at 17 was by no means uncommon, but it was of concern in the thoughts of foreign policy. It is worried that non Velitii nations would not take the new ruler seriously, although a strong ruler would not be of concern, for the young girl would surely be a strong ruler like her family before her. "Do you vow, young Gelvira, daughter of Hathus and Liuva, to defend our city of of Intik from the other peoples of this vast tundra, and to keep the peace with the nations far beyond our borders, so long as they remain a useful friend?" Gelvira gave a nod and a bow to the Elders, "I do, for you and for all the people of our home." The council took from behind them a silver crown, a simple knotted silver wire, embedded with jade stones. "Then for the glory of our people, you will be our chief, the new daughter of the Sun himself." As the crown was placed on Gelvira's head, the silver wire blended seemlessly with her snow white hair and purely pale skin. She stood and took from her belt the ancestrial dagger of Intik. The Council took out their own knives, all crafted from the finest Bronze, and walked over to a pit of crude white dye. Here, the council men sliced open their hands, allowing the blood to pour into the basin, dying the white dye first pink, and then crimson. After this, Gelvira cut her own hand, adding her blood to the dye. Gelvira then stripped naked, and her clothing was placed into the dye basin. She was to stir her clothes in the basin, dying her normally white clothing a bright blood crimson. After the dying was complete, the girl dressed herself in the freshly dyed, still wet clothing, and was dressed further in gold and copper jewelry, and given the old bronze sword of the chief, and the traditional coak of the chief, a hooded cloak, dyed blueish green with copper. Arising from the coronation, Gelvira was now the ruler of the Velitii city of Intik, and now she was to make her rule known.
