carrie [@Oblivion666] "you better sleep with one eye open, cause when you least expect it, wham, bam! I'll get you back" Carrie muttered in annoyance, "it's a nice offer but we can't be seen asking any one guild for help, even if it's run by a wizard saint. It looks like favoritism, and we are already getting flack over the punishment of Phoenix wing attacking the council: Jamie paid the price, and that's all the public needs to know" in any other state Carrie wouldn't dare say anything like this, but it was clear the day had taken its toll on her, as she laid back down, and in moments was asleep. gabriel Gabriel supposed he should have expected what he saw on jillians face as she watched him. He suspected she didn't see that he had seen. As she walked off, he struggled before reaching out to stop her, saying "I'm not trying to be discourteous, Jillian. I really can't dance. Music is...hard for me to understand. I can't hear the beats. I suppose it's tone deaf...I don't know. So I'm sorry, really I'm trying" he knew that sounded pathetic, but what could be say? He stood there, unable to watch Jillian go, he hung his head, "I don't know what to do" he rocked back on his heels, before trotting off to his own tent, he hugged himself, wondering why he was even still here, if he just kept on doing things wrong. Why did he continue to try, when he unintentionally made things worse?
Day four (seems like it should be more then that!) of the magic games
As the new day dawned, a magic council member found themselves in a strange room, on a strange bed, with headphones over her ears, blinking against light leaking in from a slit in the curtain. Carrie found herself at odds, puzzled by the situation, as she took the headphones off, frowning at them. She felt fuzzy, a mild ache at the back of her head, and she blinked, looking about the room. jessie [@hatakekuro] Jessie was up early, dancing about happily as she dressed, wriggling into jeans and a shirt, she pulled her hair back in a slack pony tail, before just about skipping out her small apartment. She made her way, humming happily, to Ferris's room, knocking on the door, she rocked back on her heels. She had, on the way over, got coffee bagels and donuts, a perfect meal in her opinion, and she shifted them in her arms as she waited for the door to be answered. Sasha Sasha woke from a relatively sleepless night, bleary eyed. She got ready slowly, wondering if she should go check on Lazarus, but...the way he had snapped at her yesterday made her feel like that might be bothersome. She felt off stride, and she didn't like it. Sighing to herself, she started down, wondering if today would be as chaotic as the last few days. penny Penny was awake long into the night, reading and rereading a letter she had found on her bed, after she had settled Jasmine in a room, promising they'd search for her family in the morning. All that was left of the letter in the morning was a pile of ash, but Penny didn't need the letter to know the words. She was troubled, feeling like she needed to be in several places at once, but unable to do so. More and more she was starting to feel like she was taking on the overflow that Master Jamie and Jarvis couldn't handle. She didn't mind it, but she wanted to find answers for Karn. Sweeping up the pile of ash, she threw it in the fireplace, effectively hiding the evidence of the letter. Tying her hair back, Penny started out the room, frowning slightly, Master Jamie would normally have them moving by now.'she glanced down the hallway, wondering if she should get the teams moving. Master Jamie Jamie had only returned to the hotel room long enough to put Sam to bed, before leaving. She didn't go far, climbing up to the roof of the hotel. She didn't sleep. She sat where she was, and laid her head on her knees, pulled up to her chest. That's how she stayed, staring at the starry night. Sometime during the night, images flashed in front of her eyes as if the stars were rearranging themselves. The day she met Jarvis, the day they were too late to save a little boy, the slow, almost lolling fall into love, the day they got married, losing Sam, and then the weeks of pain, of grief, until they ran into a big bruiser type, being hounded for the simple fact he could use magic. Opening the Guild, a tether for both of them, a lifeline in the sea of...grief. The first Mage to sign up, the brusier, long dead now but never forgotten. The joy of being able to help other mages, of finding peace in everything. And then the guild really took off, and Things were...better. Jamie felt lost, the steady ache in her chest from the loss of the seven forms, the seven beings that had influenced her life in one way or another over the years, leaving her feeling isolated, and as alone as she had been on a long time. She knew she would do it all over again, for Sam. For her children. She knew she had been, even the tiniest amount, out of line the day before, that she'd taken it all too personal. But the guild was personal to her, it had been the place they'd found laughter again. So it damn well was personal when someone attacked how she ran the guild or one of her members. But she always did what was right for her guild. As the sun rose, Jamie let out a weary sigh, and uncurled herself, rising, making her way to the room. Jarvis Jarvis began to get ready, knocking on the room Amelia and Sam were in, "come on girls, get moving!" he said, glancing at the time. Worried, he went to a window to see if he could see Jamie anywhere. Michael Once more Michael would be found on the roof of the dragon fang hotel, with Uriel again. The young boy was panting and probably had more bruisers then he would have simply sparring with one of the guild members, but he had landed a few hits on Uriel, which he was positively thrilled at. He was thrilled with how far he had come. But he knew he had a long way to go. He headed down to clean up, and then to get some food gabriel Use to early mornings, Gabriel was already awake with the sun and tidying up his things, he had never quite got out the habit of packing them all away, ready to travel. Even after two months, it was hard to get in the frame of mind of not having to move on each day. He headed out of his tent, blinking at the light. He rustled up some food, sausages, bacon, potatoes, and some seasonings. Perhaps a weird breakfast, but Gabriel found it to be quite filling, and...perhaps it might help the games team win. It didn't take long, something easily made. All you had to do was throw it all in a skillet after you chopped it, and then let it cook. What took the longest was cutting it all up, enough for the whole guild. Gabriel enjoyed cooking. It was something he could do quite easily, and without much thought. And cooking around a camp fire was a skill you picked up quite quickly when you didn't have a home. And he had missed it. Camping out was just so simple... He sighed. And stired the food, not wanting to burn it. He didn't know how anyone could screw up breakfast, but he figured if anyone could he would. So he was trying not to.
