The year is 2024, within the month of January, or, to be more specific, the first of January - the beginning of a New Year. Common crimes such as thievery and robbery are relatively low after the surge of superheroes that appeared in the late 50s, inspired and spurred on by the thought of protecting humankind. However, with the sudden surge of superheroes came an even larger surge of similarly powered villains - people who wished to see chaos spread within Earth, and even beyond. For years, the heroes were able to take the villains on with the help of experience and powerful abilities, but, as the years waned on, and the heroes began to stumble in their fight against evil, the villains began to garner more power, influence, and population, eventually re-igniting the fire within the bellies of the numerous criminal undergrounds. It seems as if, within the years to come, villainry and criminal activity would be at an all-time high. Crisis, a well-known, high-class hero, has taken the liberty of commissioning the construction and furnishing of an air station, or helicarrier, on which to house a team of super-heroes. This plan has been within thought and theory for a few years, after the hero officially recognized the global threat that the rise of villainry could cause. Of course, the construction was kept top secret, and through numerous methods and trusted artisans, the forming of the team and even the station as a whole has been kept in the dark, known to absolutely no one but Crisis and his most trusted allies. If the villains had caught even a whiff of the plan that has been accelerating rapidly in the past few months, the entire operation would have been in danger, and the entire process would have been slowed, or, at worse, even halted. Fortunately, things went relatively smoothly, even though a few loose ends had to be taken care of. The construction complete, the HQ completely furnished and in working order, floating high above the state of New York, Crisis could finally put his plan into action. On this day, 1-1-24, history would be made. This is the day where the chosen heroes would come together, and meet underneath one banner. This, is the day when the Argonauts would be created.

Hello, and welcome to my role-play, The Argonauts. As you probably understood from reading the above passage, this is a super-hero role-play, with an over-arching plot that will be developed naturally, as character interaction and development is incredibly important for an RP to be interesting and fun. The team will be meeting in a large, yet dusty and run-down warehouse, located on the outskirts of New York City. More information on the warehouse will be located within the first IC post. Now, onto the rules, and after that, a few quick facts that'll hopefully clear some stuff up.

1. Respect is pretty important. Feel free to engage in banter, but do not go over-board, and try not to get salty. I'm allergic to salt. 2. Characters. Alright, I'll try to be pretty brief on this. I'd rather you not use straight up anime pics. Art is definitely fine. If you want to go real-life images, feel free. Just no anime, please. As far as actual detail and stuff goes, I want this RP to be Mid to High Casual. That means, try to keep your grammar and spelling relatively correct, and I expect detail within your sheets. I'm a pretty straightforward dude, so if your CS doesn't seem to be up to par, I'll tell you. In a nice way, of course. 3. OP-Ness and Godmodding. Please no. No Superman people, please, and no auto-hits. This should be pretty common-sense. 4. Put your favourite fruit in the 'Other' section of the Character Sheet. 5. I think that's all, honestly. Use common sense, don't say something to someone if you feel as if you, yourself would be offended about what you said, and all that nice stuff.

1. This is in an AU, sorta. There's still all of the countries and states of the real-world, but there's no DC or Marvel-related stuff. No superman, Kryptonite, Batman, Avengers, ETC. With that being said... 2. Feel free to create stuff. Different alien species, cities, states, towns, ETC ETC. I want you to feel free. 3. Technology in this world is a bit...well...confusing. If you're incredibly rich and intelligent, and have a lot of influence and such, you can probably get really complex stuff, but...yeah. Think of Marvel and DC in the regards to technology. If you have the influence and money, you can have futuristic gadgets. If you don't have the latter, then no. 4. Heroes has been around long before the 50s, but they only became known and, for lack of a better word, 'mainstream' around the 50s. 5. As a tip for your CSes, Crisis will most-likely not be recruiting teenagers, so at-least have your character reach bodily maturity. 6. This hider will be added onto as more stuff come to me, or as people ask questions. Be on the lookout. As a note, the CS Skeleton will be on the first post of the Character Tab.
